The match between the ATSIC Chairman's All-stars and Carlton, to be played at Marrara Oval in Darwin on Saturday February 8, will now receive a live national broadcast on pay television, via the Fox Footy Channel.
Fox Footy was today given permission to broadcast the match thanks to the generous agreement of ABC Television, which is producing the game for free-to-air television within the Northern Territory.
ATSIC, which provided crucial support enabling the national broadcast to go ahead, and the AFL were both delighted the game was able to be taken to fans in southern Australia.
The match, the first for Carlton under new coach Denis Pagan, commences at 7.40pm local time (9.10pm AEDT).
The AFL website, afl.com.au, will broadcast a free live audio call of the match, provided by the National Indigenous Radio Service, supported by the efforts of Telstra and the AFL, as a free service to all visitors to the website.
Reminder: Koori Radio in Sydney 93.7FM will have the game from 8.30pm.
