The Tigers play a winless Adelaide side at AAMI Stadium, but the Tigers haven't won there since 1999 either, which, coincidentally, was also the last time they beat the Crows.
I distinctly remember Terry Wallace orchestrating a huge upset a few years ago when Richmond beat Adelaide at Docklands. From memory, Richmond just kicked it around amongst themselves for large periods of the game and Joel Bowden got a gazillion possessions.

There was an uproar about the keepings off tactics. It was like icing the clock for the last 10 minutes of EVERY quarter.

No you weren't mistaken BBB. That was probably the icing on the cake as far as Wallace's career went, IMO. No one wanted to see that crap game again. Even when they won.

The year was 2006. It was a week after Richmond got flogged by the Swans - a third straight crushing defeat for the Tigers.

The Tigers went on to have a pretty good season, finishing ninth. That win against the Crows the catalyst for a run of five wins in seven games. Terry Wallace stayed on as coach for another two and a bit seasons so, fair to say that the game icing his career is just a bit of a stretch Prim.

I think that game just put the first seeds of doubt about the Crows and Craig. The Crows would not man up so the Tigers did kicking practice till the game was over and they had won. Craig then said "I was waiting for the players to work it out for themselves." Seemed stupid to me and good on the young Tigers for sticking to a winning game plan.

I happen to be at that game as the other half is a crows supporter, it was the most frustrating game ive been to. It was literally kick to kick and I remember when the siren went to end the game it was only at the 19 or 20 minute mark on the scoreboard! Stupid wallace tactics, the crows nearly pinched it in the end anyway with a late shot at goal.

To Richmond's credit in that game, it shows that you can win without the cattle if you have a game plan. Not the most enthralling game, sure, but for memory the howls of protest were only coming from over-hyped media types and Adelaidians.
