I don't mind this, can't live in the shadows all the time, plus we need to ramp up the excitement in Sydney and get new (and old) people along to see the new look Swans. The game against Freo on the 22nd deserves a massive Saturday afternoon crowd.Comment

He's hardly said anything groundbreaking. The team's playing a good brand of exciting footy..... we've had a couple of injuries but have better depth to cover than previously....... we have some seriously hard games ahead.... and we're gonna take it one week at a time....Comment

Maybe we do...but we don't have enough depth to cover losing 2 key defenders and your number one ruckman. No one does if they have to play the most damaging team in the comp away when they are fully rested and have no injuries....
Also....
injuries to other quality players, Hanneberry, McGlynn, Bird....walking wounded 3 of 4 best midfielders, Bolton, O'Keefe, Kirk
Also....
Umpires
So, in summary, at a neutral ground with neutral umpires and 5 or 6 back in the team it is a realistic proposition to beat Geelong
But....replacing 2 key defenders with Ted and Ed has the knock on effect of making it absolutely impossible to win....unless the midfield destroyed Geelong....which was impossible under these circumstances but theoretically possible later in the season
It's a bit like dominoes...once one thing goes it can all go if the weaknesses are lined up in an unfortunate way (as they were). Doesn't mean it will happen again."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
