True. It is a peculiar system - pros and cons for disclosure and how many strikes it should be can be argued all day long. Difficulty for any player 'into the scene', so to speak, would be turning off the desire when the third strike hangs overhead.

Seems like this is outside the system anyway - being interviewed by police for possession apparently.

Not sure on Michael Johnston, but Michael Johnson is being investigated by police on a 'drug-related' matter.

I tipped Doggies by 46 points last week.

If Bradshaw and McGlynn play, we will win, just.

Well the Michael Johnson story could be quite massive, takes a ruck/forward out of the game and will disrupt them. However as we experienced in Round 1, 2007, it doesn't mean the side will fall apart.

If the selectors get it wrong again we will get rolled by 39 points. If Roosey doesn't coach with any enthusiasm but selectors get it right we lose by 21points.
If selectors get it right, Roosey turns up to coach we win by 7 points

If we're still scraping the barrel with the likes of Pyke, Playfair, Bevan .....and Roos persists with White out of position in the ruck, on what I've seen the last few weeks...... no chance.
However if White plays forward along side a fit Bradshaw, and McGlynn comes back in, and we sacrifice Richards in the ruck (he's far more useful around the ground than Pyke) with the intent to pilfer from the stoppages, if we chase and pressure for 4 quarters, and the umps and the ball bounce go our way....then maybe.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

So many, so negative, so quickly! Sheesh!

A look at who both teams have played is surprisingly similar - both have beaten the eagles, crows, lions and tigers. Both have lost to St Kilda. Swans have beaten North and Freo beat Essendon (can consider a like for like result). Last round both lost (to Collingwood at home and Dogs away - another similar result). The only significant difference is that they have a meritorious win over the cats (at home, on a day when the cats were flatter than usual) while we all know what the cats did to us at the cattery. That result basically accounts for the different positions on the ladder - so there really isn't a lot of difference between the sides. Our wins over the bottomish sides have been denigrated, but Freo's results over the same cohort have not (probably due to the cats result buying them some street cred).

Being at home is a huge advantage to us. Apart from Freo not winning in Sydney since 1996, the last thirteen games between these two clubs, going back to 1999, have been won by the home side. Logic says all of this shouldn't make a shred of difference to a game yet to be played, but aussie rules games are not always logical, and history and superstition plays a big part!

I think the doomcryers need to take stock a bit - we've had key players out and have faced the pre-season flag favourite and reigning premier away from home in the past fortnight. We all hoped we might get a win or two, but it wasn't to be. Time to dust off and get back on the bike so to speak - Freo provides a credible opponent to do that against!

I keep lecturing you people about logic and how this is not the place!
We've lost two in a row-it's the end of the world as we know it!
Frankly, I don't know if we'll win or lose, our ongoing injury concerns worry me, but they copped a couple last week and now this garbage with Johnson (what the hell was he thinking) places them in a pretty similar position so it's very much a 50/50 proposition.

As long as we turn up and have a red hot crack, I'll be happy. If we're good enough the result will take care of itself.
