    A record I wasn't aware of....

    Our Club (as of course South Melbourne)still hold the VFL/AFL record for most consecutive home wins, the record was acheived between 34-36, after our Premiership. Pretty cool record to own 70 plus years later.

    They flashed the figures up at the start of the Cats/Dee game today. Geelong seem on track to beat the record later this year or early next year (I think they were 5 games behind?)

    Sorry if this is well known but I can not remember ever hearing it before and I can't seem to find some of my old footy records to see if it gets mention on our club stats page.

      geelong would of passed it already if played every game at skilled. But nice to have a record

              Knowing Collingwood, they would be more likely to beat them at Skilled than at the MCG!

                  No, didn't know that stat. Apparently they had 12 consecutive wins from R10 1933 to R1 1934 and 12 consecutive wins from R2 1935 to R14 1935. So they had some away losses only. (Source AFL Record)

                          didn't we win 20/21 or something at the scg in the 90's.

                              We had a run of 19 undefeated home games from 96 to 97, which was stopped by St Kilda. This includes a draw with the Bombers in 1996.
