Sorry guilty as charged - I can't help myself sometimes.....

Now for my serious response:

Does the old standard of the little guys doing better in the wet than the big guys still hold true? I would think that overall we have enough hard nuts to get us over the line in a wet match on Sunday, but we'd better keep close tabs on Watson and Stanton as I reckon they'd go alright in the wet.

I reckon Rohan would relish the wet but agree that someone like Jetta might find it a bit tougher. Jarrad Moore and McGlynn would both be good too but dunno if they'll be deemed fit enough?

No,Geelong plays well in the wet, (just as well as it gets pretty wet there) and you could hardly describe them as little. The player who gets his body behind the ball does well. Those who like to scoop the ball from out wide get caught out.Those players who always grab the ball with 2 hands do well and those who control the ball drop onto the boot with one hand kick good too.Older,slower guys like me do alright too because the pace of the game slows down a bit because of the extra time taken in being more careful with possession.A solid chest marker will hang onto a mark better than a flashy hands marker . Sliding to the ball is a viable option too and stops you falling over. Running momentum becomes so important as its the only way to break out of a pack.

One of the best players in the wet from the old school was Malcolm Blight.Saw him win a thriller single handed in drenching rain through running momentum and great skills in the wet.
