I think that he already has over the last 4-5 years tried everything possible to come up with a way to somehow beat them!

That's not too shabby. I have only missed 4 home games since 1982 when they first came to Sydney. Love my Swannies!

I think we are in with a show against Collingwood this time.

There's no doubt that since 2006 they've had it over us, rather like the Crows (how good was that win earlier in the year!).

However, there's been a significant turnover in personnel since last year, so this time, we're not going to be so predictable. Providing no-one gets injured this week, and with the benefit of the week off, we should have a full list to choose from, with the exception of Seaby and Craig Bolton.

I think the win against Essendon showed our next generation are starting to produce when it counts - and some of them are very, very good. Hannebery, Smith, Bird, Grundy, Jack, Rohan and Jesse White should form the nucleus of our next premiership team.

As for those crowd figures on the club website, we should be proud to belong to a club that can generate big crowds like that.

I think we might surprise everyone against Collingwood this time. I'll certainly be there cheering them on.

How about for a change the 50k or so who will turn up actually create some intimidation for the pies..they go up to sydney knowing there will be next to no intimidation from the crowd and hence become arrogant bullies from the opening bounce. Thats all they have done in the past 5 years..come out with a real intense purpose to smash us..and it works as we go into our shell.

The pies hate it when the crowd lifts a home team..they choke. See Brisbane and Geelong games.

So come on Sydney..go feral as hell at the pie players when they come out on the field.

If we beat Port, and the weather's good, and we have McGlynn, Kennelly, Bolton and Bradshaw back, and they market it well, we might get close. But I really doubt we'd beat it.

I anticipate a heavy loss, particularly with the conservative team selection that is getting us nowhere. What will be interesting will be:
Mumford versus Darren Who, Smith versus Didak, Kenelly on Medhurst, Reg on Cloke. We might be able to restrain their forwards but our forwards will not be able to kick a winning score, unless Bradshaw is back or we do a backflip in selection policy. At least this game will give the guys a chance to show who is prepared to put their hand up against a superior rated and superbly coached team and give it a red hot go.Miracles can happen!
Do you ever have anything positive to say about the team?

I am hoping the boys have a heart and win this game because if I have to travel back with Collingwood bogans again I will strop someone.... Oh, forgot, I have got a prime parking spot this game. YAY!!!! No boguns. And I would be really reallly really pleased if we win this one. And for some reason, just call me psychic, I think we will - and comfortably. Ooohhh.....

IF we can do all these things, we can beat Collingwood. But I don't feel confident.
Unfortunately Bradshaw won't be back but if McGlynn is back and we drop Playfair for TDL, Goodes hits some form and O'Keefe hits some form, maybe........

Why not? The official injury list puts him 1-2 weeks away. The Collingwood game is 3 weeks from now.

Can't remember where but read that his injury was the same as pre-season. So not back for a while. I hope it was wrong. It would be great if he was back for knuckle-draggers game.

Just had a quick perusal at the AFL injuries list and noticed that out of all the teams, Maggies have only 3 players on it and they'll all be right to play by the time we get to play them. How's our bloody luck? The Pies without any injuries and with 2 of our best still out or seriously underdone (if we rush Bradshaw back in), a win would be outrageously satisfying.

Even if a win is a slim chance, I figure they've got 22 players and so do we, just the chance of getting one back on them, I wouldn't miss it for the World.
