    What's a hot spot?

    I'm reading that Ballerina Boy Tom Hawkins has a "hot spot" in his foot and I don't really have a clue what that is. Any ideas?

                          In all seriousness though, it's the beginning of a stress reaction, so that if rest isn't taken it's likely to develop into a stress fracture.
