    Goodesy

So here's the litmus test...Cornes to play on Goodes according to this
Chad on last chance, says Port coach
Both in terrible form....Cornes on his last chance. My prediction is that the winner of this duel will be on the winning side. The odds would favour Cornes, who has a hideously good record against us...not to mention our excellent record of playing sides back into form. So a big opportunity for us to step up and deny the usual ending. Hope we can do that.

Maybe Goodesy is suffering from everyone setting themselves for a"A Big One" against him.

There are no signs yet that his form slump is over...still dropping chest marks etc....last week. even the coach is out of ideas....I mean there he was hoping that being given a goal to seal the match might be the catalyst for a turnaround....in which case......

Anyhoo, as the old saying goes, the more terrible games you play, the closer you are to a blinder!

    Should be in the midfield.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

His first half was a shocker last week but he played himself into the game in the second half. Kicking that sealer right on the death would do a lot for his confidence.

Go back to basics Adam, you are trying to do everything and more and you are trying to do it with flair.

Wasn't it Cornes that we played Goodes on a few years back to get him back into form?
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I don't often agree with you KS but on this we do agree, I think that is exactly his problem.

              Yes it was....ahhh the irony.
No doubt Cornes will try a few cheap shots, lets hope Goodes rises above it, and runs him off his old slow legs.

I think you have to go back to round 2 2006 for the last time Cornes had a blinder against us (20 possessions, 4 goals). That is a long time in footy, an even longer time in the career of Chad Cornes.

The records say he got 25 possessions against us last time we played at AAMI but I have no recollection of him dominating that game in any way, shape or form. That was the game when Moore was on fire, Mattner's tackling was wonderful, and Schmidt kicked the sealer.

I think its right, Goodesy has been trying to do way to much and instead of it looking like leadership, it looks selfish and as we have seen, counter-productive.

I think its a self-less and trusting team game style that has always worked for him that he needs to get back to. Stop trying to be the BSD in the forward 50 and create for team mates.

Awesome game from the champ tonight!

Certainly had his kicking boots on.

We agree on one thing! Great game from Goodes tonight. Hands were very sticky and seems to have put the kicking yips aside. Goodes second efforts too, something that hasn't always been there this year.

Roosey was on the money, that goal in the last two minutes last week seemed to spark something. Great to see.

He actually looked like a KP forward tonight.

As they say, good kicking is good football. If he had those special boots on in the previous two rounds (and kicked 5.1 & 4.2, instead of 1.5 & 2.4) not many would have commented on a drop in form. He has always provided a contest, although tonight he was cleaner with the ball than in recent weeks.
