White shouldn't be dropped. Certainly not after one bad game. Though anyone who suggests that he had a good game simply because he created a few contests is clueless.

A forward's job is to kick goals, take marks, provide goal assists, make tackles AND create contests. Really the later is by far the easiest.

I can't wait for Seaby to come back though, the Mummy/Seaby combo going into the finals should be massive.
I thought his kicking was actually pretty good too! Certainly hit his targets.

I don't think we'd even be discussing Jesse, had a port player not got a fingernail to his snapped goal or if the match had have gone for 2 seconds longer.

Jesse's marks were't sticking, but he provided a contest. His second efforts were excellent, and his work at ground level was fantastic.
Jesse is here to stay, and it will be to our benefit.
        Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.

Wasn't that awesome? there were two Port players in front of him and he just launched himself past them - a fair summary of the teams' respective intensity I think. That said, it was a quiet night for the fella.

Great win. Realistically we should have won by more. Noticed that the umpires did everything in theier power(pardon the pun) to get Port back into the game in the third quarter. As was brought up earlier in the thread how can you get pinged for HTB when the only hands on the ball belong to the opposition!!
              Red & White forever.

Jesse NEARLY White nearly kicked a goal, nearly took a mark and nearly looked like an AFL footballer. How many good players will we lose at the end of the year eg Vez, MOD, Campbell, Meredith, Johnston because they can't get a game while we keep giving Nearly more and more chances?

How many of them are actually missing games because of White?? Takes time to develop, I bet some Freo fans were frustrated with Sandilands for a long time too, just got to roll with development of the big players. I don't buy the argument that one players development is hurting a bunch of other younger players.

The game was a bit uninspiring, but a win sure beats a loss any day - well done Swans!

He was drafted in 2006. How long do we have to wait? Last year may be as good as he gets.

                        Henry Plairfair thread.

But seriously, none of those names are Key position forwards other than Johnston (who will get his chance very soon I suspect).
How about this hypothetical then. How would you feel about throwing Jesse back in the reserves and end up losing a talented young key position forward to another side, when we have Goodes and Bradshaw at the wrong end of their careers?

MOD wont make it, plain and simple. His kicking skills are sub par, and for all his dominance at reserves level, it just doesn't translate to senior footy.
Vez and Meredith will be part of our best 22 sooner rather than later, and lets not forget that Kirk is retiring at seasons end, so that frees up another midfield spot.
Not even worth talking about Campbell Heath being poached... This is his second year at the club after being picked up as a 17 year old, and he spent the whole first year sidelined by injury.... I'm sure other clubs are just banging down the door to get him!

I repeat, he has been here since 2006. Does anyone really believe he is going to get better? Oh and i'm pretty sure GWS and GC would welcome Heath with open arms.

Yes, I do believe he will get better, he has done so every year he has been on the list.
He is recieving more attention this year from quality defenders than he ever has, and is acquitting himself well.

What makes you think GC or GWS would want Heath? I just don't see it.

Are you really asking if anyone believes White is going to get any better?

He has a massive upside with plenty of improvement possible. Whether he becomes a real force in the Swans forward line for the next 5 years or so is really up to him. All players have ups and downs in form - and he is still developing. Do I believe he will get better? Absolutely.

You can always tell when someone is losing an argument, they start name calling with people that don't agree with them.
