It was awesome fun leading the chants from down the front with my big flag. We have over 100 paid up club members in SA alone. We'd have had 500 or behind the goals. They are also very keen too. One lady next to me was in tears, as seeing us win was the highlight of her year. It makes coming interstate (& 12hour V-line bus trips from hell) worth it!
Even more awesome was seeing this Port fan in a teal & black beanie lose the plot every time I started a chant up in the last quarter. He was swearing at me, giving me the finger, threatening to come down and belt me. So I kept going just to to see what he'd do next!
Was awesome seeing the players come right up to us and give us High 5s on the boundary line. It is funny but little things like that really mean a lot to us diehard fans. They make you feel like we are all one club together. More please fellas!
Nice to have a weekend during the World Cup. ;o) Then it is the Pies up in Sydney, a game I thought was a certain loss. Now I'm not so sure. Our team has great promise. All this is a rebuilding year (how is your re-building going West Coast! :0P)

The Sydney chant came through loud and clear on the telly and even the talking heads made a comment about it. I commented earlier about the team going out to the supporters and Rooster's Irish Jig. As funny as it is reading about the Port supporter who lost the plot, worst feeling in the world if you end up in the same situation.
The plastic over the seats at AAMI is a shocker. Does it break down under Port tears?
And yeah, the Swans chants sounded great on TV, loud and clear.Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

Congrats to Swans Crowd at AAMI Stadium
It was great to hear the swans chant go up several times at AAMI. Particularly as it was a third state (ie not NSW or Vic) You would have thought it was local side a couple of times.
I'm not sure how many supporters had travelled from melbourne or sydney but i'm sure that there was a certain amount of SA sydney supporters.
I think it shows that there's a certain about of rusted on bloods supporters now who have spread around the country.
Anyway it sounded a hell of a lot better than the bad old days at the scg when you lucky to get any reaction there but now we have voices around the countryComment

You forgot to mention the final insult to ones posterior person. It was NARROW metal bench, made by pigmies, for the Auskickers. Wondered why all these people were lining up with huge blankets on a sunny afternoon and straps. they tied the blankets down onto the benches......If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Great job JF et al! Wish I'd been there.
Brought back memories of my only attendance of a Port-Swans game at Football Park, which was one of the greatest wins in the club's history on 7th September 2003. At the odds of $7, this was Sydney's Qualifying Final win against the red hot minor Premiers, Port Adelaide.
-Where three key Swan players were all injuried in the second half, (Kennelly, Seymour and someone else i can't remember), leaving only one player on the bench
-Where the Swans had no quality ruckman, (Jason Ball injuring is shoulder in Round 20), resulting in plenty of ruck related free kicks and cheap goals to keep Port unfairly in the game.
-Where SMFC won their first ever VFL/AFL finals game outside Victoria
-Where Brett Kirk became a legend, being knocked down but coming straight back up.Comment

Forgot to mention the legend that is A. Goodes being born!Comment

I'm glad other people raised this one, here and in the HTB thread, because I thought I was imagining things. There was Birdy, both arms outstretched Jesus-style, looking the umpire right in the eye and...he gets HTB? Seriously?Comment

Well done SA fans and the hundreds that travelled, came across so well on TV. I went over to our 08 victory at AAMI, where PA hit the front with a few minutes to go and we fought back with a few late goals. Was brilliant and the atmosphere was great!
Also appreciated seeing the players go up the fans instead of their normal "ten metres away then clap" haha not a big deal, but I think it's generally appreciated by the fans and not a hard thing to do. I notice a few players are doing it more and more at the SCG too.Comment

And Captain, your references to "just bringing the ball to ground" make you look stupid...watch the game and see all the other good stuff he did. Only a 4/10 I suppose, but lots of mitigating circumstances and absolutely no chance of being dropped.
And the thing about lots of small errors is that oyu only have to improve a tiny bit to have a massively different impact on the game. I deadset cannot believe that Riewolt is doing what he is doing. Seriously 6 weeks ago he would have been dropped from 15 other teams he was so woeful.Last edited by sharp9; 14 June 2010, 08:35 PM."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
