Influential Eagles sound out Roos after Richmond humiliation

Would be surprised, but anyway there it is

His name will be raised in relation to any coaches under pressure or being white-anted. I'd guess his passion is for coaching the swans rather than coaching per se. Laidley's the one who'd take eagles.

It was spoken about on Sunday on 3AW I think. I hope so, we know his game plan.

I heard this, as a rumour, a week or so ago on MMM.
Apparently Nesbitt has been sounding him out.

Caro Wilson wrote a story about this about 7 weeks ago re: group of influential eagles targetting Roosy, but it's believed that Roos has already agreed to head up the Swans Academy from next year.

Moving from Sydney to coach the Eagles, would seem like an odd move for a "non career coach" in anycase, but they are mega rich and money talks I guess.

I will be bitterly disappointed if Roosy does go to a new club next year, considering he has been telling everyone he doesn't plan to coach again.

Would be too soon IMHO and coaching against the swans a year after he finished might play on his mind.

BUT i know there are people out there who think loyalty is dead and roosy should do whats good for him and his family. I don't subscribe to this at all.

                      Roos to West Coast?

Although I don't think it will happen, I almost hope he does go just to spite the Eagles fans.

I wonder what happens to their squad if the "no dickheads" policy is carried over.

Yeah right, Roos heading to West Coast

I guess it won't be the last Roos rumour we're going to hear.

Correct me, but hasn't he agreed to take up a footballing job at the Swans after this year, rather than moving to the US?

I'm sure the story is right in saying Worsfold is on borrowed time.

John Wordfold To Be Replaced By Paul Roos As West Coast Coach?

That's what he has said on numerous occassions. I think the last time something was mentioned he said something to the effect of - unless a team wants to base themselves out of the Bahamas he won't be doing anything - his boys are going to go to school in the US and you would think most of that is organised. He won't be coaching next year. I would be stupefied if he was.

                              Paul Roos

March article from Caro that suggest Roos is likely to head up the Academy and stay involved with Swans.
