I received this today by email. I changed the salutation for those wondering.............
Dear RWO's,
It has been a long time since we were able to chalk up a win over Collingwood. In fact, round 13, 2005 was our last win against the Pies and that was by the narrowest of margins ? just one-point.
2010 is a new year and it is a vastly different team that will meet Mick Malthouse?s men next Saturday night, June 26 at ANZ Stadium. While our game plan is much the same, we have had a big change in personnel here at the Swans. We?ve got Tadhg Kennelly back and gained Benny McGlynn, Shane Mumford, Josh Kennedy, Gary Rohan and Lewis Jetta. We also have Nick Smith who has played such an important role in our success this year.
The match against Collingwood is a great test for us. We?re a fairly different team but we certainly need to play a lot better than we have against them in the past. We struggled against Geelong, the Bulldogs and Frementle - three of the best teams in the competition - so we are determined to prove ourselves against one of the top sides in 2010.
I?m pleased to report Daniel Bradshaw?s recovery from injury is tracking nicely and he is a good chance to return to our forward line for the big game.
Since 2003 when the blockbuster matches against Collingwood at ANZ Stadium commenced, the two teams have established a fantastic rivalry. Unfortunately we haven?t been able to crack the code for many, many years now, so it would be nice to get one over Mick before I retire. I might ring him next week and see if we can come to some sort of agreement!
