Been the same for years. We are so predictable and the opposition is set long before we bring the ball back into play.
Wanted: a kick-in strategy

That's just insane isn't it? That that is the plan and it's exposed for all Teams too see. To me, this not a plan? A plan is having certain players making efforts to run and play the ball into certain positions from the kick in. The percentages for retaining the ball are probably lower by using this plan. Sure when you turn over a ball i50 it's more likely to lead to a quicker goal. The plan of kicking to a contest further down the ground will achieve the same result, it just won't happen as quick. It's like admitting, 'we are screwed, so let's just kick it long and hopefully the beating we cop won't be as bad'. I'm mystified by this plan. If all other teams can move the ball out of their backline without too much struggle, why can't we? Sure, I can understand it's application long into the game when things are getting tight but why are we the team that has to kick long to a contest from the first siren to the final siren? That isn't a game plan I'm sorry. Call me uneducated but there has to be a better option. You're practically coaching the players into standing like statues from the kick in. We went up the Middle so well in the early part of the season and now it's non existent. Crazy stuff.Roos was quoted as saying the reason that he was so annoyed at 1/4 time was that noone was following the plan. He said "we told them to kick long at kick in and what do they do? The first three kick ins are all short." But then we stuck to the plan for about a week after the Pies worked it out and were clogging our 50M line.

kicking in long to the boundry with a high bomb every friggen time is plain stupid. Are the swans players not allowed in the centre square?? im surprised we venture in there to compete for the centre bouncesTheres not much left to sayComment

How is it that the Pies' backline was often almost completely clear on their kickouts? Becuase their backs were instructed to run toward the centre? O'Brien had a paddock to run in on a couple of occasions. That seems like a pretty good plan B. We also need a plan C and D.The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

We take to long to move the footy the only way to break down the zone is to play on quickly though we don't have the abilities to do it ( kicking skills ,hand skills) on paper with do have enough defensive leg speed to clear it though, so long as we use it right.Comment

A strategy to contemplate may be this - drop the turn over monkey - Rhesus..... Rotor Virus is clearly evident....Comment
