During the Freo match a commentator compared what Pavelich was doing with what Goodsey was doing and said that Pavelich moved between the forward line and the midfield, doubling back to be in position for the incoming ball from the half-back line when needed. When Adam moved up into the midfield area he was not moving back and often as not when the ball came into the Swans forward line he was caught out of position or was not there. The other forwards eg Jesse must not have been complementing him.

Exactly, he should never go forward unless he has a match up he can exploit eg. someone 6 inches smaller

goodes just needs to able to go wherever the ball is, even if he is playing like rubbish an opposition tagger will follow him around all day and take the pressure off someone else.
