Very interesting to see Johnston there! Tell you what, it could have been a lot worse. Not that it usually means that much, but Richards being near the end bodes reasonably well.

Hoping (like I'm sure many of us are) that the bench goes: TDL, Johnston, Meredith/Vespa, Pyke.

Agree about the bench.So much will depend on how and where these new guys are used. The best scenario will be if they are given a simple task!

Dont know what Bevan is doing there, but apart from that its good signs. I think Teddys past it, but i like the guy and wouldn't begrudge him a game, though I'd rather get a look at LJ ( Being from Melbourne gives you little chance to see Ressies players in action). TDL deserves another crack ( 3 shots on goal from 3 marks inside 50, thats more than reasonable) and either Vez or Meredith would be good to see, though i think in all fairness it should be Vez ( meredith will get his chance). Looking forward to seeing more new faces this week. Win or Lose, it's good to see the future of our team running around. And it should be a bright one going on what we've seen so far. Go Swans!

That is debatable, but even if you accept that premise, looking at the side, we plenty of midfielders at half-forward.

Exactly, so the 18 named are unlikely to spend much time in their nominated positions - which makes the selections on the bench a bit puzzling (at least to me!)

So with Pyke a certainty for one of the spots and maybe TDL getting another game after settling his nerves in last weeks game, do the selectors grasp the nettle and go Vespa and Johnston for the other two places? As they say in the classics - ooooh, that'd be good
