As rapt as I am to see Meredith back in as I reckon he's a sensational prospect, the Vez treatment is now just weird.

He did well in his one game and no matter the configuration of ins and outs, he can't crack it and the one game he got seemed to be given reluctantly

    Anyone smell a GFC signing?

          Agreed.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Goodes to revive shaky Swans | The Daily Telegraph

See we will be right........ It was in this article that Roos states that no one was dropped from last week because of poor form.

We need some grunt at Full forward. Lets play Barbara from BankWorld!

Great for Meredith. Turnover Ted is there for the sole reason North have a tall forward line. He'll no doubt play a 'loose man' role which he excels at because he doesn't have to actually line up on an opponent.

Bevan played one of his worst games in red and white a fortnight ago so it's unforgivable he's back. There's surely no reason why Vesz couldn't play a defensive role. That's been the traditional apprenticeship assigned by Roos for attacking but inexperienced mids like McVeigh.

Robbo is right, Roos is forgoing the medium to long term future to scrape a finals appearance in his last year. Finishing 8th or 9th makes little difference but playing guys who won't be on the list next year ahead of possible 10 year players is ridiculous.

Still looks a very slow team for mine.

He's not giving them another chance, he's trying to win a game for Gods sake!
It's a strange phenomenon, but most clubs and supporters aspire to make the finals and playing twenty two kids ain't going to bring home the bacon.
Given the fact it looks like it will be a wet track on Sunday, the Bevan/ Richards inclusions make a hell of a lot of sense.

Bevan must now have taken over the mantle as the most carried player from Mathews. I am just stunned that he gets dropped for obvious daydreaming as reported and confirmed on this site, does a week's penance and is back the next week. He clearly snatched the photos from Mathews as Benny left the building. As for Richards....... The world's gone mad. Nothing changes with us. It is compulsory to have a couple of resident hacks hanging around the joint.

Hammo, Hammo, Hammo; excels is a bit rich. When he plays that role he thinks he can lairise and stuffs things up. Watch North isolate and corral him and all hell break loose. When he plays for us he is a massive weak link. Put him and the Bevanator together and you have disaster. Throw in Pyke and we are 3 short already.

So many seem to think an untried or young player automatically means a player who will not be successful and ultimately cost us the game. Many posters here are serial offenders with this prejudice.I would support Robbo by saying in Richards and Bevan we have two experienced players who are just as capable as a young player of losing a game. If we are relying on these two slow ,poor decision makers to shore up our defense heaven help us. After the last performance Bevan gave I really believed the farewell Bevan thread! How could a youngsters debut be worse than that? The opposite could happen just as easily,..we could discover another Hanneberry and win a few games as well. Using Vez in defense is a no-brainer.He offers us so much more.

Nor from me! I t gets very frustrating to watch this happen though, watch the turnovers and the clangers, finally the game lost and another week of listening to people tell us why they should be in the team for
                          experience
                          height
youngsters will lose us the game...(I like this excuse for picking Bevan and Richards the most).

In a few weeks time Roosey reluctantly will play these youngster and his sycophants will call him a genius!! just watch!

There is a good chance we will get done like a dinner this week, but our first priority is to try to win. Perhaps the real question is, which will do less harm, a slaughter of the hacks or a slaughter of the innocents? I don't think Roos has forgotten the future, I think he is focussed on the next game. And when the season is shot, I expect to see the emergencies on the field.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Took a while but it's nice to see the bitterness and outrage finally make an appearance.
