    Any positives?

I'm still annoyed about yesterday's game. We gave away a five goal lead! But I'm trying to think of some positives.

The obvious one was Mike Pyke's strong mark and goal.

And LRT repelling the onslaught time and again.

    Any others?

It wasn't in Sydney so I didn't have to sit through that agony in person?

        Jude Bolton.

Gives his all week in, week out. Wish we had more like him.

Jude. He was totally spent every time he was interchanged yesterday yet he went back on every time and gave his all again and again.

It's not exactly a positive, but I reminded myself that "this kind of thing just happens once in a while". One team takes their foot off the gas, the other wants it more, they get momentum, you're gone. Remember Kangaroos 2004, SCG? Probably as bad as yesterday.

Positives - those who always try and never give up. Yesterday: Jude (obviously), McVeigh, Mumford, McGlynn, Grundy, LRT, O'Keefe, Pyke. Less intense but OK - Hannebery, Moore, Kennedy, Smith. But it was one of those days less about individuals, more about a team that as a whole just didn't respond, for some reason.

I think Moore's return is a plus. He didn't have an outstanding game, but it certainly answered the questions asked on here if he is in our best 22. He certianly is. Apart from that not alot. Though i think TDL definitely didn't set the world on fire, he took three marks inside 50 for three shots at goal. Not bad for your first game of AFL.

Pyke he actually looked like a footballer for the first time yesterday. Some of his ruckwork is starting to look instinctive. His improvement continues to amaze.
Hanneberry this guy is simply a gun. He must be signed on a long term deal future captain in the making.
Smith shut down Tambling and is very rarely beaten. Would like to see him do more shutdown rolls in the midfield and then unleash him like they did Mcveigh a few years ago.
Jude getting better with age, looked washed up a few years back.
Kennedy tuff as nails, will turn the ball over but is a clearence specialist
Mcveigh...........The Ox sang his praises all day, why is he been kept in the forward line for so long, is he carrying an injury.
LRT tried his heart out and along with Grundy are holding up really well without Bolton

TDL looked like the moment got the better of him. Wasn't playing instinctively and for me looked timid at times and slow aswell. I think they will play him next week purely to see if he can overcome the nerves. He would be shattered if dropped.

I cannot fault the Jude effort, but I reckon that over half of his possessions were handballs exactly 100% backwards.

Sure, it gives some-one the chance to kick to the best advantage, but with our skills that is an optional extra. It also slows the attack, and seems to continue the laboured build up we saw again yesterday

                          From the Swans perspective, nope.

From an overall footy lover's perspective, hearing the roar of "Yellow and Black" as the club song played following the final siren - I was tempted to just yell that. It's definitely one of the great sounds in footy.
