Seaby is 4 weeks away, presumably he will spend a couple of weeks in the reserves since his injury was so long term.

Every game Pyke plays he seems to be getting better and better.

Undoubtedly Mumford has stamped himself as the No. 1 Ruckman at the club - little anyone can do to dethrone him.

So - the question is, in a race against time, does Mike Pyke have enough improvement in him over the next 6 weeks to cement himself as the Swans No. 2 ruck?

Seaby, no question. I'm a great fan of Pyke, I love what he is achieving, but when fit, Seaby gets the gig every time.

for the rest of the year, i'd say stick with Pyke, and go easy on Seaby, bring him in if Bradshaw can't get on the park (providing he is fit enough)

Next year it's fair game and let the best all rounder win. Which I think will be Seaby.

Love the Pyke will probably be considered by other clubs, but if the Swans do keep him, then what will happen to Currie?

Will Currie make the grade, be offered as trade bait or request a trade?

If kept, how will the club keep all the rucks engaged & primed for battle?

With a dearth of KPP stocks, Horse might have an opportunity to really go extreme left field and fit the 4x of them into the Seniors...I'd pay to see that

Yes.

Now that the Filth have realised the value of a decent ruck division, I have nightmares of Eddie making a play for both Pyke & Taubert next year.

Pyke has a credible AFLPA Accredited Agent, he is listed as an International Rookie and as AFAIK is out of contract @ the end of this year....we have no future contractual hold on him.

Unless his Visa is dependent on the Swans alone retaining him and he wants to continue his tertiary education in NSW, then I reckon it is likely other clubs will make a serious play for him and he may seriously consider his options, should he decide to continue his AFL experiment.

am i the only one who thinks pyke cant play? oh well, id drop him he has improved but not hard when you start out as nothing to improve somewhat. But around the ground he cant play much at all?
