    Swans Junior Squad Clinic today

The Swans held a junior clinic for all kiddy Swans members at the SCG today.

Adults were banned from the field so we had to watch from the Ladies Stand or wonder around.

Weather held up for the actual clinic but started raining during the autograph session. However the guys all stayed and signed autographs for the allocated time. I though great, they'll all have a cold for Sunday.

My son (9yrs) loved the session and said all the players were really nice and encouraging. Jetta complimented him when he kicked a goal. LRT was giving kids high 5's in his group. Goodes was very attentive to kids when he was doing his handball session.

They had speakers set up in the middle of the ground playing music, so when Justin Bieber Baby came on all the boys in my sons group all squirmed. Ted Richards told them all that it was Brett Kirk's favourite song. Then said it wasn't really but they could tell their friends it was.

Didn't see Playfair, Bradshaw, Orreal out there. Rohan was clowning around but ran with a limp. Amazing how lightly framed TDL is. LJ hair always looks like he has a static electricity problem. Boys for some reason were really amazed how tall Jesse White was. I think it is because when they did their first group they had shorter players.

Nick Smith was shocked that my son (in fact anyone) had 40 on his jumpers back. We couldn't get everyones autograph because there was a lot of kids there. Apparently there will be an open training session next week and fans can go. Watch the Swans website for details.

AS the signing time wound down some of the players hopped up from their seats and moved through the lines to sign as many things as possible. We had Kirky, Hanners, LRT, Bulldog, McVeigh (who was impressed my son played KIllarney Vale last week), Smith and Thornton come down our line.

Didn't see Roos but Longmire was out there walking around the kids groups. At the end all the kids got a free drink and pie.

Not really possible to have a chat with the players because of the number of kids. Ground was very boggy so I wouldn't be surprised if they call off the ressies game at the SCG this Sunday.

Maybe your son could show Jetta how to kick a goal, hardly surprising he got a compliment for that. Was there anyone there we could slip into the forward line given the current situation?

Good to see they are doing stuff like this to encourage the kids.

      John Longmire.

Correction, Jake O was there as his signature was on the jumper. D Currie is a fairly quiet guy.

Just reading the Trim the fat thread and just realised NO BARLOW anywhere to be seen today.

Swans Squad clinic a hit with the kids! - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

Link to today from the website. Players did a wonderful job and it nearly makes up for last week's loss. Nearly.

Don't you love it when the younger players (i.e., nic smiff) find the fans rate them.....for some reason its always a surprise. The kids go home happy. The players go home secretly thrilled someone has 40 on their jumper.

Primmy you should have seen the look on his face. Exactly as you have said here.
