Apparently he met with Gold Coast coach Guy McKenna a couple of weeks back to sign with them. The conversation went something like this:

      "Haloumi Kenna," said Barlow
"Haloumi boy, how was the flight?"
"It was a bries, some turbulence caused a bit of a Roquefort, but I fink a lot of things."
"Morbier, mate?" offered McKenna, gesturing to a bottle of Coopers pale.
"No thanks, don't want to get Livarot."
"So how you feeling about the move then?"
"Kinda blue, to be honest," replied Barlow, eyes downcast. "I was Passendale Thomas the other day, he's not so sure he wants to come down now. His formaggio has been a lot better this year, and it's got the Pies offering him a better contract. I really wanted another soft white up here."
"Well, we've got Nathan Bocconcini coming up, better than nothing, right?"
"Yeah, I suppose. Stiltons of time to decide, I'll keep this "injury" going for as long as I can in the mean time, wouldn't want to play and risk getting injured now, would I?"

Blegh. @@@@ there are a lot of cheeses, but I couldn't even get a decent story out of them!

Tell me about it. Uni holidays, back home (I'm at uni in Canberra atm), literally killing time til mother dearest gets home so I can nab $20 and get a pizza, curl up in front of the TV and watch the footy while keeping an eye on the scores of the warmup cricket match between Australia and Derbyshire. GF is out of town, nothing happening tonight, nothing better to do.

                  I laughed. Several times!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Pretty sure I read discussion on the Internet somewhere of Ed signing with Gold Coast?

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

And that Stella is why I decided to ask......I am fairly sure we made up the rumour, out of boredom probably, in the first place.......

So did she 100% confirm that Ed is absolutely not playing for the Gold Coast next year?

He can't go to the Gold Coast because everyone knows that cheese goes off in the hot sun. Or does he have to go there because The Cheese will "Go off!" in the hot sun?

What would you do to something that goes off in hot weather prior to a Gold Coast trip? Put it on ice? Hmmmmmmmn
