Didn't we finish 2009 in 12th place? And this year should finish at least 4 places higher? Surely that's exciting?

I just hope they play as if the season is on the line. If they lose then, OK, that's where we are and we have to accept reality. Just let's not have any more of the insipid and careless stuff that saw us go down to Richmond and Hawthorn.

Agree 100%.
No probs with a loss, though I believe that will make finals a really tough ask and give the negative Nellies on this site more ammunition, as long as they go down fighting.
Much like we did in the final few rounds last season.

What could be more exciting than playing finals?

Easy! Winning a Premiership and building up a team that can do this. Sorting out the young players and giving them game time to determine their best spot on the team or whether they have the right stuff. Can't do this when you are fighting for a top 4 spot but when its clear you are not a top 4 side(THIS YEAR) if you don't play your kids and sort them out you have lost a golden opportunity. To fill your side with old servicable players who will never win you a flag is a mistake. Thats what some of us "negative Nellies" are saying.I prefer the term progressive thinkers who want a flag not just a finals appearance.

i dont mind the team except we have too many mids and not enough forwards. White, McGlynn & Moore are our only permanent forwards and the rest will be mids playing forward. i would like to see TDL forward and hanners, meredith and goodes playing midfield.
