    How is it that?.....

How is it that a player can grab a jumper and then punch another player in the face whilst holding that jumper and it be OK with teh AFL?

The same as a player sling another player in a tackle, causing that player to need attention because his head hit the ground, but nothing said in the MRP.

Just seems to me that if the AFL are really trying to set an example, they'd so something about this practice of disguising punches.
Sure there's not much of an impact most of the time, but it can't be setting a great example to the kids....

I was trying to explain to a mate of mine what the newspaper meant by "jumper-punch" a couple of years back now. Failing with words, I demonstrated using him as a the victim. I had no intention of hurting him, but the bruise I left on his jaw told the tale. Anyone who thinks these punches are innocent little things is kidding themselves. If anything I now think they are more dangerous as the victim is pulled forward into the fist for extra force. The AFL needs to wake up and do something about it.

P.S - My mate was fine after a couple of beers. I'm glad I pulled the punch and didn't really whack him, I tell you.
