My fave was in the GF when he was actually running off the ground for a rotation but smothered / intercepted an Eagles move so well the camera lost the ball. Freakish bit of play. Yeah, pity he missed a couple of sitters a year later...

As for the Dwayne Russell quote: he has said two to my knowledge (aside from this one) worth repeating i reckon:
      1. Gavin Brown takes a sliding grab and the commentary is: "Brown... skid.... marks" (it's a bloke thing) and
      2. Earlier this year talking about Travis Johnstone's beard and hair: "He brings his gear to the ground in an old shopping trolley..."

Thanks especially for that one - made my afternoon!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Its no coincidence that he grew into the champ he's become since he stopped popping that talentless bore, Delta.

            A great career!

What a great player for the club, I can?t wait for Sunday to show some appreciation.
As the bloke on the radio said: Looks like a model, plays like a carpenter. Too true.

Didn't have much time for Jude early in his career - and he was only lukewarm in our glory days, but I think he's one of those players whose contribution you notice more in a losing side.

Not sure if it's that or me just softening to him that makes me think he's been improving over the past 2-3 years (more or less since we offered him for trade).

Like 31, 37, and 6, it will be a sad day when he pulls up stumps.

Art teacher, according to Dr J. junior, and he should know she taught him. May well have taught English too.

Sensational effort. Just pause for a moment and consider these stats:

VFL/AFL:10981st player to appear, 175th most games played, 720th most goals kicked
Sydney:1297th player to appear, 5th most games played, 44th most goals kicked.

They are amazing stats, and an incredible career that he should be proud of his achievemenst, and we as supporters should be glad we were there to witness the career. From his first game at Optus Oval where his first kick in AFL football was a grubby scrubby kick along the flank to today where in my opinion he is the barometer of the Swans. When Jude fires the team fires, when he doesn't, the team struggles.

Well done Jude. Have enjoyed watching your career unfold.

He'd be right up there with :
most head bandages worn in a career.
Most times on the bottom of a pack.

AND don't forget the World Record of contested possessions. -26 v Bombers!!

Always loved watching Jude. And I agree his game has amped u p in the last few years. Leaving no stone unturned.
Always a charming boy and now a charming man; has the looks and doesn't seem to be particularly impressed by them (that bandbage bear look in the GF is testament to that). All round someone to be proud of, and he has worked and he is loyal.
