As for the Dwayne Russell quote: he has said two to my knowledge (aside from this one) worth repeating i reckon:
      1. Gavin Brown takes a sliding grab and the commentary is: "Brown... skid.... marks" (it's a bloke thing) and
      2. Earlier this year talking about Travis Johnstone's beard and hair: "He brings his gear to the ground in an old shopping trolley..."
I'll give you another Dwayne Russell line from his ABC radio days. It was a semi-final between the Crows and the Doggies and Terry Wallace started Libber on the half back flank against Andrew McLeod. After McLeod's third goal the runner went out and Dwayne said "and the runner's message is Hey You, Get Offa McLeod!"

Congratulation Jude. Great acheivement. He'll go down as one the greatest Swans of all time when he finally hangs up the boots.
Hopefully he'll hang around long enough to make it to 300.
Unfortunately, I have to work on Sunday so I'll have to crank up the VCR and watch it when I get home.

I still think of him as a blond kid learning the game - hard to believe he's gotten to 250 already. Fantastic effort and I dearly wish I was in Melbourne this weekend to cheer him on rather than having my nose buried in an accounting textbook. Oh well, Hope Bruce will throw in a 'Special' for him on the TV coverage.

I know it's tough once you hit the wrong side of 30, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he made the 300!

I know that, but there's only a few weeks of the season to go and I'm getting anxious!

Looking forward to going down this weekend. We are attending ladies lunch and of course the game. Hope the team plays well for our workman Jude and his 250th. Must win this game and be grateful for such a great player.

              Well done Jude.
              Love those Swans

He's been one of my favourites, my sister's too, since his debut.... although I more than suspect it was his appearance rather than his ability in the beginning! Always a nice bloke when we met him and was always happy to pose for a pic or two.

Glad to see him reach this milestone, and if he keeps on playing like he has been, would be very happy to see him reach 300!

And I got lambasted for daring to criticise him for that disastrous day. He had about 5 touches after those 2 misses. Then he went into oblivion for seasons 2007 and 2008 when by his own admission he didn't prepare himself at AFL level. To his credit he has bounced back and I think his last 2 seasons have by far been his best and he deserves his contract extension.

A tribute to a courageous Blood:
Never a Blood so brave as 250-gamer Jude
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Great article . Gives us an insight into what the players go through.

Good luck for a great game Jude !

Well done Jude. There is no player tougher than you in our team, and that's saying something when your captain is Kirky.

As they did with ROK in his 200th.

Kirky's 200th wasn't too flash either. Some weird pattern emerging? ;-)
