    Friday Night Footy - QUALITY....SPOILER

I don't know what it is but Friday night at Etihad is electric. There have been some sensational games. Couldn't split Stk and Hawks tonight and a draw is a good result.
    Very tense last half.

That's just as good as a loss for Hawthorn in terms of our battle with them for a home final.

Yep, very pleasing result for us.

        What a game.

Details were very scratchy on the interchange mixup which cost the Hawks the game. Any clues?

Pulsating game to watch, the umps were very authoratative, thought they explained their descisions quite well. Wanted the Saints to win for our benefit, but Hawks should have nailed it.

According to radio, Birchall went on early, but it wasn't clear.

Great game, I thought the Saints got the raw end of the key Umpies decisions in the last quarter, but gee, the Hawks had it, that last few minutes was crazy. Great game to watch.

Lots of players coming on and off. Whitecross, in total confusion, standing 1m inside the field of play asking whether he is meant to be coming off. Birchall jumps off the bench and runs on the field anyway before being hurriedly called back. Then Whitecross goes off and Birchall replaces him but the emergency umpire has witnessed the transgression.

Just watching the replay on 7Two. St Kilda get some of the softest 50m penalties in the AFL. Also some obvious frees against them aren't paid. I wish we got looked after like they do.

Clarkson has had a big sook in the paper about it.
Fair enough too. A very harsh penalty for such a minor breach.

Along with the zealous protection afforded to Sookie by the umps, the Saints are the most umpire favoured team in the AFL. The emergency ump must have been deliriously happy when he was able to pay the interchange infringment against the Hawks.

Always like to see how our ex Swans are travelling. Schneiderman kicked three and is an integral part of their team. Dempster had a serviceable game as well but he seems to be a fringe player brought in when the Saints have injuries and suspensions.
