    Swans game plan

We've been down this road before. but today against Melbourne it laughable.
They figured out how to beat us before the game started and applied what they had figured out and it worked better than any of us could have guessed.
Any team who wants to beat us simply has to watch a replay and apply what melborune did.

Watching the game I had two thoughts.

    1. we were poorly done by with the umpiring.
Normally I come in here and ridicule people who sook about the umpiring, but watching with my usual unbiased POV I found the along with the simply poor decisions (Melbourne's second 'goal', ROK's mark which was called out of bounds etc) every decision that was 50/50 seemed to happily go against the Swans and every 50/50 call seemed to give Melbourne the benefit of the doubt.
*Note, these observations were made in the first quarter and a half when I was actually watching the game - after that I glanced at the TV less and less.

    2. (and the reason for this thread).
What does the Swans 'keeping off' style of play say to the players?
Either dirctly or indirectly it says the following to them IMO
    a) the Swans are not confident that the players will win a contested ball.
    b) the Swans are not confident that their forwards can lead and make effectively
    c) the Swans have little faith in the midfield and their ability to winn the ball
    d) the Swans are happy for the players to exhaust themselves running extra time to make a lead for every single pass
probably more to add to that list in the psycology of the game play.

Watching the game replay that was played before todays game, I was excited watching the Swans play.
Watching Heuskus 'selfishly' run 70 meters and penetrate the forward line
Seeing Kelly blaze away at goal only to have it bounce out of bounds and then subsequently the Swans snag a goal from teh trow in.
Kickett doing whatever he likes because his ability is respected and not restrained and contained.

I wish I could get excited more when i watch my team play (win or lose)

          True.

Our gane plan has attained a whole new level of outdatedness, which makes it null and void....
