    Jetta's Ups and Downs

Jets' Journal - ups and downs - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

So against Melbourne I got this handball from Goodesy. It was in the first quarter and he marked it near the goals. I just took one look at him and didn?t expect him to handpass it to me, to tell you the truth, so he caught me off guard.

And when he handpassed I thought, ?Stuff , I have to kick this goal now!?

He gave me the easiest one you can get and I kicked it and I was thinking, ?Yeah it is going to go through?. It went straight, it was going through the goals and then it just turned, and I?m thinking, ?Not again, not again, turn back the other way?. But it hit the post ?

I looked at Goodesy and he looked down and I felt s?house?

    Kick a goal FFS!
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Probably just wishful thinking, but I can't shake the feeling that the game he scores his first, he'll get at least 5.

Yep, there has to be a lot of pent-up accuracy inside those skinny, wobbly legs.

        Poor Jets.

Is this a record?? Surely someone else has played their WHOLE career and not kicked a goal.

When he kicks his first goal in the seniors, I'm going to charge the ground!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Damn, now if Jets checks RWO that video is going to be a full-length film!

I too believe that when he eeks out that first one, he's going to get a sack full, not just a bag. I hope and pray that it's this weekend.

I also believe that maybe with all the extra training he's had to put in to become a professional player, his muscle strength and his natural movement would inevitably change as a consequence has affected his kicking. We're in for a thriller when he learns how to use this new power in his legs.

Will they let us invade the groung a-la Pluggers records when he kicks his first? Count me in, although no doubt the little bugger will manage to run away from us all....

He mentioned in another one of his blogs that he holds the record for the most behinds with out kicking a goal.

His behind kicking has moved past frustrating and is now comical. I have a bit of a chuckle every time he misses now. That said, I can't wait for him to kick his first. Once he has that first one in the bag, that monkey will be off his back and Jets will be off!

His kicking in general play seems pretty accurate. Maybe a cut out of a swannie plonked behind the middle of the goals, tell him to pass it to the cut out....he'll never miss.

Sounds like a plan. I do think as others do that when he gets the first that will be it and he will be on his way. Can't wait to see him go next year after he's had a full pre-season to build up some muscle and get his fitness right up there.
