The funny thing about Barlow; I believe he played for a short while in the first quarter, and for the first time in ages I was impressed that he was playing a mature game. Maybe the penny dropped. He should be so good. Anyone know if I am right that he played? Or was I myopically calling Barlow for Cambo?

Thanks to those who posted on this thread I have really enjoyed reading it. I couldn't make the game last night so I tried to record it and I somehow stuffed up the recording of it. I was so angry as I think watching losses against the benchmark tells a lot about the character of players. Anyway getting off track, it is great to have some informed comment on the reserves as I don't get to see them a lot and it gives an idea of who may be ready to step up and what we have to look forward to over the next few years.Comment

I can't work out what is going on with Currie. He dominated the taps, took a couple of very good contested marks and lived up to his nickname when he crushed his opposite ruckman with a great tackle. But watching him off the ball, he never seemed to get out of a slow trot. Whether he lacks fitness or initiative or he was told to pace himself because he had to play the entire game I do not know. I'm lovin' Sumner. Fast, low to the ground, terrific skills in close, good disposal. Sort of like a cross between McLeod and Rodan. Great potential, and appears to have a decent motor as well. LJ continues to impress, but he does undo some of his good work by dropping the marks he should take. The Dill is a lock to come off the rookie list - we have a gazillion bokes with LTI's, I would love to see him get a run in the ones. Added bonus with the Dill is that he is a dead eye dick shooting for goal.Pay peanuts get monkeysComment

As noted ORB about Currie. I wonder if he has been given instructions from Taubert to just concentrate on his rucking for the time being....and it would make sense seeing we didn't have another backup ruckman and the workload for this game was pretty high given the number of ruck contests he was involved in.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Scholarship boys;
. Jackson Potter is still a fiesty player, with attitude and probably aptitude.
. Blake Guthrie did some good things, kicked a goal.
. Jack Lynch learning the game, had a great smother, big unit getting bigger, nice looking too, and can put on a reasonable block. WIP.
. Mitch May, not bad, lost a bit of concentration and watched a ball go past while he kept following his man.....way to go yet..Comment

Thanks to everyone for previews, tweeting & wrapups - especially TripleB for tweeting stats on his birthday..nice work!
Anyone think Gordon or Gilchrist has a chance of promotion to the senior list this year?
Do any of the topups look like being elevated to the rookie list?

Yes!!! Just logged on to change it, and there you go!
Ugg, you are awful.
RTTF: No, Gilly not a snowballs, Gordon probably next year, he is a very very likely lad.
Toppies: Would like to see Kruger given a chance, and expect that Emery will be considered - he has worked his butt off.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

The boys moved up the line and into seniors this year already are Rohan, Jetta, Smith, Pyke (yes will put him in this group), Meredith, Dennis-Lane,which is pretty formidable.
The players moved up due to seniors injury after being dropped are Bevan and Richards.
The players injured at present are Bird, Bolton C, Bradshaw, LRT, Seaby, and then add to that the strongly suspect Shaw, O'Keefe, Macca, and the slowing Kirk. Add to this Barlow, Thornton, MOD, and Orreal - This is not funny.
More lower ranks have moved up in one year than I can remember happening before. And we are running out of lower ranks with enough behind them to play seniors this year.
My view is that TDL may get a gig next game, and that Sumner will make an entrance earlier than later but maybe not this year, with LJ hot on his heels. Maybe. But there are five senior players getting ready to be played, and squeezing 5 into our current group means that there are going to be dropped players......and even if Shaw is one of them, probably will be, that makes 4 - probably Bevan, possibly Richards (but after his Geelong game, where he probably played his best yet, itg would be cruel), and then.....two more......when you are juggling those numbers, I cannot see any further ressies making their mark - THIS year.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Considering how much you get right, you are forgiven. However, you are NOT forgiven for the Cheese Hamstring comment.... ... .. .If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment
