Think of this the Lions might be bottom after today. Three of the teams we struggled against are surging (Melb, Essendon & Richmond) & look to have big futures. Next year is looking very bleak if they run over us. Start the rebuild now & we will be better for it & I will still support the Bloods through thick or thin. Even if we are getting flogged as long as the players we are playing are the future & trying their hardest. The Cats, Pies & demons showed us just how far off the pace we are & showed up our deficiencies ie; pace, ball use, quick thinking, centre bounce set ups, run & forward set up. Lets get moving on the rebuild to a huge future, maybe another Lions or Cats in 5 years.

Walls said ROK has a groin injury.

You think the Lions did last year's recruiting to tank? Wow. If so Voss is a deadset genius and certainly had me fooled.

Geelong looked so strong out there it was Men v Boys and Old men. Poor old Jets looked like someone had left him out on the ground after the little league.

No but just before they had their big run they bottomed out & got great draft picks. Just saying not good for Voss & i think getting Fev is part of the problem , he is a bad influence & a party boy. Just pointing out how overrated you can be as the Lions were picked for the top 4 this year by all the pundits. Sure they have injuries but they obviously don't have the reserves to make it. what I am saying is if we bottom out we could win more than one premiership just like the Cats & Lions did. The Cats were bottom at one stage & there were big calls for Bommer Thompson to get the sack, look at them now. When Lethal joined the Lions they were a basket case & with good draft choices they turned it into 4 Grand Finals. Think of this WE COULD BE THE NEXT BIG THING IF WE BOTTOM OUT!!!

IMO White is the single biggest dissapointment for this season. Even more than last weeks game. I really believed he would become a genuine full forward and a great replacement for BBBH this season after what we saw last year... We have to persist with him though. We have no choice. Small forwards like TDL are usefull but we need a big body in the forward line... Dropping him to the ressies so he can kick a bag doesn't seem to work. I reckon he needs to have some quality one on one time with someone like Micky. Someone who can mentor him and impart some wisdom. He needs to learn to use soft hands when marking. I think he has the tools for the job. Just needs some coaching..

Early last year white was playing as the second ruckman, considering that and his basketball backgroun, and our poor forward movement i think he has shown quite a bit this year. In an ideal world he would of kicked 30+ at least, but an ideal world he would of played 2nd fiddle to bradshaw all year, or Goodes would of fired as a full time forward. I think he needs to be cut some slack, considering others in the team get one or two touches and supporters gash madly over them

i thought they should of put an announcement over the PA to locate rhyce shaw, was he there. I was disapointed mcglynn went to ablett early, i admire his attack and thought it was odd to put him in a negative role. I dont think we expected to win last night and i thought it was better than last weeks effort, but it was still a poor performance for a side sitting 8th. We will be cannon fodder if we make the finals. Theres some good signs for the future, but a few middle ages guys need to pull the old socks up or nick off

I am going to be the baddy here. Although Adam was visible around the ground and worked very hard, he was not effective enough. there I have said it, the boos can start now.

Adam Goodes - 22 possessions, 15 kicks 7 handballs, 8 marks, 8 contested possessions, TOG 98%, 3 goals, 3 points, 3 goal assists, 120 Supercoach points, next best Kennelly with 101 points.
Considering he played much of his time up forward you must have mistaken him for someone else who was visible around the ground but not effective.

Geelong were awesome. We matched it with them for most of the game, but they really killed it off in a couple of bursts. They had a massive amount of ball and unlike us they moved it fast and accurately.

Our decision-making was terrible. We repeatedly kicked needlessly to a contest.

McVeigh disappointing, Shaw beyond disappointing, White has issues, Meredith didn't get enough of the ball.

Goodes, Malceski, Kennelly, Hannebery, were all really good, Jetta showed a lot of heart.

Watching Geelong kick in in the first quarter, Nathan Brown on MMM said he couldn't remember the last time he'd seen an opposition team go one-on-one on the kick-ins. Do we always do that? Whatever, our setup for opposition kickins have been ineffective all season. THe way our team kicks for goal we ought to make an effort on defending the kick-ins.

They may have gone one on one at kickins but they missed one player all night - Milburn. How this happened is beyond my comprehension. Why wasn't someone accountable for him?

D Milburn - 18 kicks 11 handpassess, 22 uncontested possessions, 93% effective because no one was on him. He had a week to dispose of it. 11 uncontested marks because he kept running to the fat side by himself by 100 metres to set their up attacks unpressured. Second highest supercoach points with 140. Not bad for a geriatric half back flanker. Not mentioned in Geelongs best in the Sunday rag. Was the man invisible to all and sundry.

After my son's birthday party, I wasn't going to put myself through that again. Seeing the game live at the MCG was enough for me.

Having said that, I thought the team tried really hard and the Cats ARE the Premiers. I thought Pyke had a very good game and is improving every week. Next year we will have three really good ruckmen.

Smaller loss than I anticipated and I hope we give LJ and TDL some and more experience in the firsts.

Yeah, the only thing I could glumly mutter last night was "I hate to say it so close after the game, but I am cheering Geelong for the GF (in absence of course of the Swans, you know). They're the only thing that can stop Collingwood at this point ..."
