Does anyone have the statistics on how many players the Swans have used in the seniors this season. And how that compares with other teams?

I posted this stat about 6 rounds ago, if you can be bothered to look for it.
As it stands after round 18 we have used 35, I'm not sure about the other teams. We used 33 for the whole of last year. -
The AFL Ladder provides these numbers. Simply click on the "PU" stat and it will add it to the ladder to compare. Sydney has used 35 players through to round 18 (=6th with Adelaide & Carlton). Western Bulldogs and Saints have used the least (32) and Richmond the most (39).10100111001 ;-)Comment

To me this is a pretty useless stat a lot of the games we gave to the youngsters Vez(1)Heath(2)TDL(2)ODywer(2)Meredith(2) you could call them token this would take it down to 30 and with all our injuries doesn't look good enough on paper all season we have looked to play out of form and injured senior players at the expense of bringing on the youngsters even when they have performed OK.The AFL Ladder provides these numbers. It's remarkable that every team in the 8 has used fewer players than any team outside the 8 - the only exception is Adelaide that has used the same number of players as the Swans, Blues and Freo.Comment

It is a fact of the game now that injuries to the limited squad make it virtually impossible to consistantly win games.
In 2005 we had a great run with keeping players on the park.
This year too many injuries to what should be key players - Bolton , Bradshaw etc
Our squad just does not have the depth ... few teams do.
This is always going to be more of a problem when recycled older players are used.
Several key young players are missing valuable games in development with their injuries.
This is why so few in the Comp ever make it to even 50 games,
Geelong seem to have been able to cover their recent injuries and Collingwood have more depth than any other team.
Games in the reserves are needed by the young players to get to the right fitness and in many cases physical bulk before they can be playde against seasoned opponents.
I support our best team who run out each week and leave the selection to the coaching panel, They know a bit more about the players fitness and readiness than even the words of wisdom on this forum ...
