What a sweet sweet victory that was!

Beautiful Saturday afternoon at the SCG in a game that made or broke our season.

It was particularly sweet for a number of reasons....
    1) Aker giving it to Kirky and ROK during the week...they both responded!!
    2) Swannies struggling on the field due to injuries and form....a fantastic 44 point win!
    3) Jetta's monkey was getting bigger...he kicked a memorable first goal and a moment to remember for all in attendance.
    4) Sitting behind us in the O'Reilly were two obnoxious Hawthorn ladies (if you could call them ladies) bagging out every Swans' player and yelling out 'ball' when we had not even been tackled...however the 2 best moments. In the last quarter, the Hawthorn lady says, "McGlynn is a worse player than my grandma, and she's dead". Within 1 minute of her call, McGlynn kicks the goal to seal the match! I turn around and say, 'karma'. To which she replied...."Well at least we're higher on the ladder". I cracked up laughing and simply said 36 plus 4 = 40 which means we are now ahead of you...she has nothing more to say.

What a great feeling it was singing Cheer Cheer after the match! Great day all round yesterday!

That game gave me a warm inner glow that stayed with me for the rest of the day. Contrast that with the crap feeling after the Richmond and Melbourne games. Sitting high in the MA Noble when Jets kicked that goal just below us was, well, special.

Watching Kirky give the ball to a kid and then give a hug over the fence was special.

This was a great win, the Hawks had 15 premiership players out there yesterday, so not to be underestimated even though they didn't have a great day. We so often see teams under the pump come out with performances like that at home, great to see us respond to the pressure after our poor performances of the past fortnight!

I want premierships just like everyone else, but it's days like yesterday & all the seemingly little, exciting things that happen during h/a, finals, draft & off-season which makes being a fan all worthwhile

              Well said, agree totally!

As a friend described when Jetta kicked his first goal yesterday...."It was like watching our own son kick his first goal in footy!". That is a moment that will stay with me forever!

Hugging, after Jetta's goal, the lady I didn't even know who was sitting next to me after spending most of the game commiserating with her the whole Jetta Drama, was in itself a sort of bonding-me-further-to-The-Swans moment. I mean, I am nowhere near touchy-feely, but whaddyagonnadew at a moment like that?

What a sweet sweet victory that was!

Sometimes when your losing(and not getting invites to things ) you wonder why you front up every week. It's days and moments like Sat when that question is emphatically answered. One of the best days at the footy I can remember.

I have watched the Jetstar land numerous times over the weekend and the raw emotion shown by players and crowd gets me everytime.

Absolutely. The team's and the crowd's reaction to Jetta's goal - just a beautiful thing.

I still have that satisfied glow from Saturday's game. Being part of my red-and-white tribe at the SCG on a perfect winter's day with our team playing beautiful footy and all the love sent Jetta's way - well, there's not much better than that.

From the article on Roosy's comments:

"Speedster Lewis Jetta finally broke his duck in front of goal and you could see what it meant to his teammates as they celebrated around him with Roos also elated.

"You can see how much it means when I had to hold the four blokes on the bench from running on as well, so you can see how much it means," he said.

"I hope he kicks 18 straight goals now, or was it 19. He was stiff on the one after the siren.""

Would that have given away 4 frees, one free and 3 50s, or what??
