    Reg & Ted

I can't let the Hawks game pass without appropriate praise for Reg and Ted. Grundy ended up with game high possessions of 31(including 11 marks and 6 tackles) and without Malceski being up to it after being dumped on his head he performed a similar sort of role and was constantly springboarding us out of defense. He matched up really well on Franklin and held his own in the body contests. It wasn't until junk time that Buddy was able to rack up his last couple of goals.

In the case if Ted, he just beat Roughead on the day and seems to have both re-found his confidence and does not seem to be carrying injury atm, which has improved his pace. He also seems to be reading the play much better than before.

    Great effort guys.

Yeah I also thought Tadhg was much better one on one with his opponent.

Agree. Ted's stats were pretty good too.

Teddy should go and find a job!!

He's a legend. He was knocked out cold for a few seconds, then got back up and only got better.

        I love Teddy.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Agree with this accolade for the job exceptionally well done. Held the key forwards on the day and I could see that the cheap goals in the last quarter hurt. Take a bow Reg and Ted.

Both played exceptional games but I think that was because they had their tails up because supply was manageable. Against the Dees, the onslaught would have been too much for the best defenders that ever lived. So both Reg and Ted should feel proud. But the midfield should take stock of how good both our attack and defence can be when it's even a 50:50 battle in the midfield.

I agree on the whole, just the 'in junk time' bit rubs me the wrong way. I don't think it's a reasonable excuse to be beaten in those contests, it was still the same players against each other. Just Franklin started winning them.

Teds best game for a year I reckon.

Great effort by Reg. Has been very good for most of the year.

I will withhold my praise for Ted until he strings a few good games together.

Its funny I thought ted was probably as good against geelong - mooney rarely outmarked him, and in a side which was getting pumped he did pretty well. And pretty much everyone has beaten up on roughhead this year. So ted did well but against a much lesser opponent.

on the other hand reg was superb. He beat one of their two main weapons (the other being hodge who was also well beaten on the day) and I'm ambivalent about the junk goals - that also starts in the midfield.

And where has the Teddy sidestep come from?
He has been using it quite a bit since coming back into the team. Selling a lot of candy.
                        For me, Reg=BOG.

Yep great games by both guys.

Ted definitely still has a lot to offer.

Ted sat on our table at Trivia last week. I asked him how it felt to be dropped to the 2s? He replied that it left you "absolutely gutted". The coaches don't talk you through it? I asked and he said "They tell you what you need to work on to get back in the seniors but that doesn't help with the feeling at the time."

I've been thinking that he's been doing enough for the past few weeks but after that conversation I watched him closely on Saturday and saw him have a blinder. Roughie isn't in good form right now but he also didn't get a chance to improve as Ted outplayed him and ran off him. Reg has been growing into his role all year but Ted certainly didn't look like a player going back to the 2s anytime soon.

And yet, when Smiffy and LRT are ready to resume, who is going to make way? Can you be confident that Ted won't be one of them?
