I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
Inspired by tonight's slap-dash meal, I'd like to see Ryan O'Keefe post a recipe for a delicious, nutritious meal consisting only of red and white ingredients.
For the record, my slap-dash meal consisted of only chicken (white) and tomato, red kidney beans and chilli (red). Yes, I'm a bachelor.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

have a look in the Good Living guide in todays SMH and it has an article that ROK actually does a bit of time in a commercial kitchen every Tuesday night at Eleven Kitchen & Cellar at King St Wharf[
Its a bit of a french style bistro arrangement on the waterfront. The article isnt on the net but it does say that ROK feels that he has 5 more years in AFL but is looking to the Culinary side of things once retired - he might have a restaurant in the future perhaps called "ROK AT THE ROCKS" !Last edited by Wardy; 17 August 2010, 01:19 PM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Lobster with a side salad of grilled haloumi cheese, cherry tomatoes baked with balsamic, salt and pepper, and red cabbage, with a garlic, turnip and potato puree. Epic red and white meal. Alternatively, instead of lobster, have veal or salmon carpaccio, cured with lime juice and drizzled with truffle oil.Last edited by BSA5; 17 August 2010, 02:33 PM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Also, I used to think similarly to you on turnips, and I still generally don't like them, but I had what I just described once (I can't actually remember if there were potatos or not, but I think there were) and it was absolutely delicious.
Also, now I think about it, the lobster probably wouldn't go with the haloumi and cherry tomato salad, so going with the carpaccio is a better idea.Last edited by BSA5; 17 August 2010, 03:19 PM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Meh, purple is just red and blue. The blue comes from all Kirky's bruises he has picked up at the bottom of every pack of every game he has ever played!

Pah, it's not raw! It's cured. Do you eat prosciutto? Same thing, basically.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

prosciutto is at least dry cured - the other stuff isnt - and I'm not a fan of straight lemon juice (unless its in a citrus tart or a gin and tonic!) and I'm no fan of vinvegar straight up either - its all a bit too slimey - yes as I have said I have failed you all!Last edited by Wardy; 17 August 2010, 03:45 PM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
