At least 4 clubs interested in drafting Brabazon

Ryan Brabazon has been invited to attend the WA state screening for potential draftees. To be invited there needs to be 4 AFL clubs or more who are interested enough to nominate you. Any chance we would be one of the clubs?

He's been brilliant in the WAFL this year although he has been playing in a side which has dominated quite a few games. But he also played in the state game against the VFL where the WAFL got belted and he was very good that day aswell.

There's nothing special about him, he's just a good hard working player. Not saying we should draft him again but I just thought it was interesting that clubs would want to draft him at the age of 24 when he was given plenty of time at Sydney.

It would be interesting to see how he went at another club. Maybe missing out with us was the kick in the bum he needed to realise he really wanted to play AFL.

As far as I know the Screening camp only requires 1 club to nominate you. Anyway I doubt we would nominate him because what would the camp show that the 3-4 years on the list didn't?

Doesnt surprise me, the way the upcoming draft is comprimised because of gold coast clubs will be looking at any league like the WAFL, SANFL etc to get players. Obviously his good performance in the WAFL has caught the eye of theses clubs.

Gee that's a bit of good news; always liked that bright young face with such expectation of something good happening in his expression. Good for you Brabba

Good luck to him, but there's not a snowflakes chance in hell that we would re-draft him.

He might be the new J-Pod - you know a late bloomer!!! I mean Pods is the oldest rookie in the world and has been at numerous clubs prior to getting the big break with the Cats - anything is possible.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Umm, Wardy, JPod is 4 times the height and width of Brabba, which was part of his problem.

The other part being that what happened once he got the ball was best described as being a lottery. Anything could happen.

I know that - But if he's doing ok now in the WAFL as said previously - he could just get there in some capacity eventually (obviously not as a tall forward ) but as a mature age rookie! you just never know.

In all fairness to him, his few (was it 2?) games in the firsts weren't that bad, the handball to Matthew Boyd not withstanding.

The fact remains, the Swans gave him ample opportunity and he came up short, but with his experience in the AFL system and relative young age, he may well be a fit for GC or GWS.

Great news for him. He was a good ball getter but his delivery by foot was not up to scratch. I hope he gets drafted by someone but not us.

Never be a mature anything in my eyes, he is a bubby. But I would just love him to be a big fish somewhere, that would be just fantastic.

Check out this link about Brabazon in the WAFL Tiger Brabazon fired up for finals assault
Seems to be making a real impression in that comp. Will probably be picked up by one of the WA clubs or Gold Coast.
