I've got no problems with kids we let go doing well elsewhere. Often I think the sacking gives them the impetus. We certainly can't complain about the way it's worked for our incoming (Ben McGlynn anyone?). Everytime I see the Crows I'm cheering on Scott Stephens.

More ambivalent about senior players. I think Baz and Schneids let us down. Glad to see Dempster make a go of it though. And would love Amon to find his mojo again.

Sometimes ,no matter how well you might or might not be playing you just don't fit. Either there is already someone just like you doing the job or your style doesn't fit the game plan or the Club's expectations don't align with your effort. It's the right thing then for all concerned to try somewhere else. Good luck to Brabazon. We may indeed lose some other youngsters for the above reasons and good luck to them too. Like the sentiments already expressed,I like to see them do well in a new club but only if they gave the Swans their best shot first.

I think you're confusing cause and effect.

So because Schneider was expendable, he let us down? Come on! By that logic, Ted Richards, Marty Mattner, Ben McGlynn, Josh Kennedy, Shane Mumford, Mark Seaby, Daniel Bradshaw and Rhyce Shaw all let their respective teams down.

The Swans would have liked to keep Schneids if they could, but they wanted a second round pick after bringing in Mattner, and Ross Lyon wanted the Schneiderman. The Swans could afford to give up Schneider, so it happened. That's all.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I was saying that he was letting us down so he got the flick, to use your terms.

At the risk of starting the whole thing again, my understanding was not just that he wasn't delivering on the field but he wasn't regarded as a 100% positive force off field either. (I don't think that was the issue for any of our imports.) As you say Ross wanted him and got him and his improved onfield performance, I hope, is matched by off field after the wake-up call of being traded. So it ended up as win-win.
