    SYDNEY SWANS
    Goal Kickers: D. MCNEIL , G. ROHAN , M. O''DWYER , P. VESZPREMI , S. REID , B. MEREDITH , N. GORDON , D. DICKERSON
    Best Players: D. CURRIE, G. ROHAN, S. REID, B. SUMNER, C. MCKAIGUE

Less than 6 players in the 'Best' again, looks like the coaches aren't happy.
Interesting that Currie is listed as the best. I thought we were somewhat lacking in drive from the centre, and Currie did little around the ground. Hmmm. Maybe I'm underrating the Tuggers ruckmen.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

If Craig Bolton plays on next year then we will have plenty of tall defenders so maybe Reid will be tried as a forward where we are lacking.

Liked the look of Sumner in an internal trial last summer and reports on him suggest he'll definitely play seniors next year and just may be something a bit special.

I'm looking forward to 2011 already!

If Sumner, Jetta and Rohan can all establish themselves in the senior team, we're suddenly going to look pretty quick, once you add Jack and Benny Mac in as well.

I've been impressed watching young Sam Reid and I hope that we finally have a true CHF. Well CHB would be nice too. Perhaps he can switch depending on match ups.

Not much of a chance for a Christmas card from Sam Ash after that description.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Lol, it was really funny. You'd look over and see this tiny figure running around, he looked like something straight out of an u13s match, short with puppy fat, that sort of thing. Then he gets close and you see him from front on and he's bulging with muscle, his face is stubbly and he has a tattoo on his arm!

Tattoos and a stubble? They're meant to be U18s players, sometimes 15 and 16 years old.

Thanks BSA5. My kind of report. And I am glad you agree that Sam's shoulders are getting wider - I am not up with these things, but I think they call them "opening up"......he is something to savour for the future though.

                  Good work.

Reckon this guy was at least 17-18. And only one tattoo that I saw, on the inside of his right arm, I think.

NOTE: The reserves match against Ainslie is starting at 2.10pm, instead of the usual 3.50pm! Looks like the ressies have been moved to accomodate something called the AFL Kickstart match. Not happy Jan!

Interesting; somebody missed McNeil's hand-off to Vespa in the last quarter. McNeil took the mark 45 out but handed off to Vespa who finished. Those goals should read Vespa with two, McNeil none.

Thanks BSA5 for your excellent report. Yes, it was a dull, cold Canberra day and a boring uninspired game. Sumner certainly continues to impress, though.

I think I have worked out what is wrong with our Reserves - despite them being on top of their competition. I think it is attitude. The negativity that is displayed by the players and, to a lesser extent, supporters, toward the Canberrra competition is getting in the way of them playing the football they are capable of, and that they need to play to get into, and cement, a place in the firsts.

Earlier this year at the Ainslie game in the rain as the players came back for the final quarter, I overheard one of our players say "come on boys, it's only for one more quarter". It could have been "come on, guys, we've got a whole quarter to win this game and win it good. Let's run hard to keep warm and beat the pants off the locals."

On Sunday against Tuggeranong it was a lack lustre we hate playing in Canberra non effort. One example: a player taking uncontested marks, no opposition player nearby, with the opportunity to run on closer to goal, took a few steps and lazily kicked in the general direction of the goal posts. This happened not once but several times.

Hey guys, for those of you who don't want to play in Canberra then don't. Very simple. But if you do choose to play in Canberra then do it with a positive attitude and be grateful that you have the opportunity that thousands of other young players would love to have. During the Canberra games you need to be playing with the positive attitude and effort required for the firsts.

Cold, sleet, rain, long bus trips, being overlooked and numerous other excuses are no reason not to make the most of every opportunity to play with intensity. It's not good for your career nor for the club's future to indulge in self pitying negativity. That attitude is poisonous to yourself and your fellow players.

So, come on Ressies, positive attitude, please.
