He gave a smile (appreciative & genuine, not "who's the weird stalker") and a wave and I turned into a giggly teenybopper for the rest of the game. My partner still rolls his eyes if I tell the story of When Ben McGlynn Smiled At Me.
That's a great story Yuri, made me laugh out loud.
I get the same response from my children that you got from your partner with many Swans related occurrences!

Big hug Benny, you have just become an integral Blood. Not quite the way I would want it (nor you I would suspect), but.......your attack and fearlessness lifts us, but just don't do that again!
Very right Primmy. I have not touched my #32 swans jumper since amon departed, but will be having the #21 placed on the back from next weekend. Ben, welcome to the bloods. I'm a fan for life.

Our off season recruiting was fantastic and all these guys got here for a handful of mid/late draft picks.

McGlynn is fast becoming a top line player and I don't think it's any coincidence that our form tapered off when he was out injured, he just adds so much to the side. Was BOG until the collision.

And that's a HUGE worry now for the next few weeks that he"ll be out.

            Commiserations, Ben.

Hope you recover well, and are back on the field soon. But I would rather that you are completely healed before playing again - you are now too precious to us as a Swan and as a player to risk a setback. I am really looking forward to watching you play again next year.

You are a true Blood Swan.

Just saw the incident again on AFL Game Day on 7 (Go), as well as footage of him in distressing pain on the bench afterwards. I felt a bit emotional seeing it. This guy is a new hero.

You have said it all. We will really miss him next week and for the rest of the season by the sounds of it. How did the Dorks let him go? Well who cares, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Amen. Though he might want to invest in the Nathan Burke helmet

Love ya work Benny. Can't wait to see more of it when you return. An instant pick in the 22 :-)

Nice nickname.....Treasure......that's done it for me.....he'll kill us.

Does anyone know who is looking after Treasure? Who stayed with him? Obviously someone did, didn't they?

I would also like to commend the trainer who had him wrapped up on the ground in a protective hug. I have noted previous injured Swans also tend to be given a protected hold/hug by one of the trainers, and I think it was the same one who held on to Hanners when he dislocated his shoulder. Nice caring man.

Gutsy little so and so - the Hawks fans told us that. But there's a fair bit more to him than that. An important player that will be missed. Hope it's not too serious but he looked like one sick sad puppy after the match.

Three plates needed in his face may do that. Ouch.

Ben you are a great gutsy player who is so very much a wanted and needed player for the Swans. The team will be missing some guts on Saturday but hope they all lift with gutsy play like Kirk and they want to for you - missing from the team on Saturday. We appreciate very much your coming to join the Swans and are wrapped in what you have brought as a player and a team member to our Swans Team.

Recover well and Recover quick so when we get to finals you can take part.

Great player, team member and this Swans fan thinks your A1.
                              Love those Swans

I hope the guy that kicked him in the head gets life. (In my ideal world, that would happen).

Poor Benny. BOG all season in my books.

We REALLY, REALLY need Braddles back - even at 1/2 strength!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
