All the more reason to hope that we get LRT back next weekend.
Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
If they beat Hawthorn, barring an absolute shellacking against the Lions it means we get a home final.
I reckon that if we can't beat Brisbane after the games we've just strung together, we barely deserve a home final.
Wouldn't actually mind if Hawthorn did beat the Pies, though can't see it happening. If we're playing at home, my preferred order of opposition is Freo, Carlton, Hawthorn. We have no reason to fear either, and none has a very good recent record in Sydney (nothwithstanding Freo's win earlier this year) but I think the Hawks have the greatest number of pure matchwinners who, if they're "on" are nigh impossible to stop.
Thank goodness, I was worried this thread was about coming out of the closet.
Hiding something?

I barracked for the Pies against the Illegals in that final that went into extra time a few years ago.
I did too. I remember going for them in last year's semi-final against the Crows too for no particular reason other than that I love a good come-from-behind win, especially in a final.

Looking at the Ladder Predictor, we can give ourselves the "easier" side of the finals draw if we finish 5th (Not sure easy is the right word, maybe preferred side). So fingers crossed we can get over the Lions and secure 5th place.
That would give us a final against Carlton or Hawthorn in Sydney, if we won that, we would most likely face the Bulldogs in the Semi as they will play Collingwood in the first Qualifying (You would think the Bulldogs with confidence and injury issues are ripe for a straight set exit)...
I know we beat them a few weeks back, but I really dont want to meet the hawks in an elimination....even if its in sydney. They have the potential to really cause havoc, especially if their stars are on song, although hodge has a knee injury I hear.

I'd been thinking the same, theoretically if we were to play the Blues and Bullies, we could conceivably play in a PF.
It's actually preferrable that Hawthorn beat Collingwood as it will take them away from us in the first week. Both the Blues and Fremantle are far more safer options as likely first week opponents than Hawthorn.
But if that does happen we need to beat Brisbane to get a home final, which on current form has us as comfortable favourites at present. Especially since J Brown played this week and will struggle to back again with a a 6 day turn around.

Hang on a sec, if Hawthorn do lose on Saturday afternoon we can effectively choose who we want to play next week.
Win and stay fifth it will be Hawthorn, lose (by a safe margin) and it will be the loser of Fremantle or Carlton at home.
I reckon if Hawthorn do lose we might just want to shut up shop and go for 6th spot on Saturday night. I for one won't be unhappy that play either Fremantle or Carlton at home.

I owuld rather finish 5th and play the loser of Collingwood/Bulldogs then 6th and play the loser of St Kilda/Geelong. I know that's skipping ahead in the book but I'd rate Freo/Carlton & St Kilda tougher than Hawthorn & Bulldogs.
