1%ers and team effort well done thread

Ted's smother (one of the best I have ever seen) and the leg break from Jude had me thinking too much again. (I know I shouldn't do that, however) I was actually thinking that we may be real nuisance value in the finals. A lot of hard work and a little luck we could inject ourselves deep into the finals. A lot more that I thought a few weeks back.

Depending on results we may not even need to win this week and I now confess that I thought the game against Loins may have been our only win in the last 4 weeks...

Keep up the 1%ers and good luck.

Well done team (all for one and one for all) and Go Swans

Agree with everything you've written Rod, it's amazing the transformation of this team over the last four weeks.
I must confess that I was so annoyed/frustrated with what was happening on the field, that I booked a weekend away with my daughters for the 17th, 18th and 19th September, thinking there was no way we would still be in the hunt. Now I'm not so sure!
Think I might cancel the Coffs Harbour plans and change to Melbourne - just in case!

I guess they had to be really crap for a bit to see where they needed to be and how much everyone had to unite to become one unit. Too phylosophical? Nah.

Ted Bear is a gem of a bloke and a gem of a player when he reaches higher than he is expected to. And that smother and a few saves were as good as you will get.
Rhyce has had a @@@@ of a year, but that doesn't stop him from working towards being as affective as he can be. Couple of tasty marks this week means he hasn't dropped his head.
Bevo gets dropped, and recalled, and I can't see a braver face no matter where he is, and his tackling is wholehearted and effective.

That's where I am going to spear my kudos towards. the obviously encouraging and supportive nature of the management of this team. Even when they are awful they don't stay there, something happens that is positive. With the advent of Hanner's emergence and hilarous disregard for his implied status of being in the lowest level of the pecking order I believe we have not many hangers on in our mob, and we should be proud of that.

Importantly there does not appear to be a "fear factor" with the Swans, not like the beginning of 2002.....nor is there complacency.

I remember saying somewhere else we don't have a lot of "A Grade" players but who needs em when you have an "A GRADE" Team.

I reckon we only can't match C'Wood and Geelong, perhaps if we had a really, really good day and they the opposite. Anyone else I think our team can beat at their best.

I would like to think that the stepping up of Mummy, Jack and McGlynn (when he has been in), plus the growing confidence and impact of Jetta and TDL, along with the contributions of Hanna and Kennedy, have taken some of the load off the senior players who have in turn been more effective. In the past few games it has been more of a team effort in that there is no longer a dependence on Goodes, Kirk, Bolton to provide all the inspiration to try and drag the team over the line, there are others who have shown they can and are able to do it. To me that is the most exciting thing.

Four weeks ago it looked like there was no-one. Now it looks so good. Throw in Rohan and Reid next year and get Jesse up and going and we will sizzle.

I don't think we can depend on Bradshaw next year, or Bolton2 and we don't need to. They will be added bonuses when they are fit and well.
