Annew, which game are you talking about? Next Sat's game is at the Gabbatoir.
Why don't you do a search on wotif? That's always the first place I look.
In Melbourne I've previously stayed at Causeway Inn On The Mall (Bourke St Mall, very well located) and I've also stayed at Ibis Melbourne Little Bourke Street (near Docklands). Can't offer any suggestions for Brissie but check Wotif, it's a terrific service.Run2Live,Live2Run -
Not sure that's the kind of hotel she's talking about GoSouth33...
I usually watch at the Lonodn Tavern in Richmond when I'm in town, don't really know good footy pubs in CBD/St Kilda. There's always the Rising Sun in South Melbourne - I'm yet to get there!Comment

Happy to recommend the Rising Sun. We've been there a few times, booked a table downstairs and had dinner before the game. The food is good (in fact the steak is about as good as I've had anywhere), the wine is reasonably priced and last Saturday a pubful of people yelled their heads off. Great atmosphere. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Yes, highly recommend the rising sun in sth melb, the place can go off when swans are on fire. I was there watching the game against the lions at SCG earlier in the year and when bradshaw launched that bomb 70 metre torp goal the roof nearly went off the joint.Last edited by msb; 24 August 2010, 04:01 PM.Comment
