    You hope Currie fails?!

Actually, as much as I like Currie and want him to succeed, with Pyke, Seaby and Mumford ahead of him, I couldn't blame him for asking for a trade. If he hasn't played 5 games by the end of next year, and we can get a decent pick/player for him, I'd be happy to see him go to a club where he might get games and see Tom Mitchell don the number 10!

Just out of interest, I heard a rumour we might be going after Barry Mitchell for a staff job next year (assistant coach/Academy/admin/whatever). That being the case, presumably Tom would follow his father to Sydney and be playing a fair bit of reserves for us, which would be absolutely incredible. Even if the Barry Mitchell job offer is just a myth/doesn't eventuate, does anybody think there's a chance he might fly over to Sydney/Canberra and play a few games as a top-up anyway?

Who was the last fatherson we had.....wasn't it someone like Sean Dempster? This will be fun - for us. So no pessure Mitch, just b ring on the CC, Charlie, Flag, and why not save the world as well......mind you, no pressure.

Ah, would love to see Big Mitch in Sydney anyway. He is a character. I thought he was being picked up by Western Sydney, but its 7.19 inthe morning, and I haven't had my coffee yet.

Tom Mitchell is evidently a ball magnet very left footed but the left is a real beauty, had to be a Swan with our history of left footers Bayes, Browning etc...it really is brilliant news. Great to see he is also rated inside / outside, can see it now .....Hanneberry to Mitchell to Reid to Johnston .......G O A L!!!
Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun

I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl Warren

Yep, Sean Dempster was the last father/son selection.

          This is brilliant news!

Superb news isnt it. By the time Tom has begun tearing up the SCG, Mummy and Hanners will be Brownlow medalists and another tilt at the Flag will be happening.

One other name who could be slotted in there is Joe Daniher. I don't know if Mitchell and Daniher are due to go in the same draft (which may make it hard to take both as f/s selections), but the exciting young crop of players being assembled at the Swans must be of some temptation to a 198cm 16 year old, even though he'd be at short odds to end up at Essendon.

Rumour on BF that we're close to signing Joe Danhier from under Essendon's nose. Would be absolutely fantastic if true, but I can't see it happening.

Wow. If we managed to pull that off throw as much money as you can on Swans flags from about 2014-2017.

If you were a 16yo kid and one of the few lucky ones that can actually have a say in where they wish to play, looking at where both clubs stand, with their respective lists, current history and ethos, you'd have to be a couple of sangers short of a barbie not to choose us!

Except that Essendon is higher profile, he lives in Melbourne, and his brother is there. If, however, there was a chance Darcy Daniher was to be delisted, and Joe knows this, who knows what could happen?

AT least we have a coach.

If I were 16 and wanted to play in a premiership team, I would be signing with the Swans.

I meant it more from the club comparison, not taking other circumstances into account.
Be interesting to know if Darcy now regrets his decision.
