The thing to remember about Father-Son draftees is that the other clubs make sure they now cost you somewhere close to real value. If he is as good as they say he is, maybe even a No.1 draft pick, then Essendon will have to part with their first ND pick in 2012. If they finish say bottom four/five then it will only be a minor advantage.
The two drafts to have highly rated Father-Son picks is 2010 (lucky Bulldogs, twice) and 2011 (lucky us) where due to the bulk of early draft picks being given to GC and GWS, a club won't have to burn a high draft pick to secure a top 10 player.
