    Support your Team this Sunday

Everybody should be there this Sunday, RAIN, HAIL, SHINE , TORNADO decked out completely in Red and White. Show your true colours, paint up your face, wear wigs, crazy hats etc. and CHEER LOUD, so loud that you would have lost your voice by the end of the night.

I recall Adam Goodes saying how much he loves the energy of the Crowd with the Sydney Chants. LETS MAKE IT LOUD for our Boys.

Support our Cheer Squad and Please, Please, Please join in. Don't leave all the work up to them, there is just not enough of them to do all the work on their own. Believe me they will be trying their hardest.

Swans members are entitled to purchase 4 tickets per membership. Take advantage of this opportunity and fill up the stadium. Lets fill both sides of Level 6.
I will be bringing everybody I know with me, AFL Fan or not, and if I have to, I will provide them with the Red and White to wear.

Lets do all we can to get our boys another Premiership Cup. FLOOD ANZ STADIUM WITH RED AND WHITE AND CHEER, CHEER OUR BOYS ONWARDS TO VICTORY.

    Yeah. No.

I'll be there but no one who is indifferent to the Swans wants to go to the football on a Sunday afternoon. Especially at ANZ.

If anyone wants to see and hear the best crowd support should watch the Tigers game today. They were over 40 points down and the crowd were going ape. You would have thought that Tigers were in front with 5 minutes to go in the GF. They lifted the team to a very close loss. It was outstanding.

While we should be taking it one week at a time I can really see this team having a crack at making a GF if we can get over the blues. Very few gave us any chance and after the tigers loss, many of our own said that we should be planning for next year as even if we scrape into 8th we wouldn't go far. Well how wrong they all were once again and how right Paul and his team are once again. I do hope that the swans flood the ads on the telly to ensure we get as many as we can out to ANZ. If you have even gone to a swans game you must get to ANZ this Sunday as 1)home finals are very very rare and 2) we shall never see the like of this team ever again.

A good chance to get to the Preliminary final if we can kick the blues. However Geelong in a prelim is a train wreck for us. It would be great for the youngsters to get that experience even if we got thrashed.

Sorry but Preliminary final would be as good as it gets if we get that far.

I know it's a different situation to 2003 (first of all having to win an extra final to even get to a prelim) but if we were to lose a prelim to an absoutely outstanding team (as we did in 2003) I wouldn't be at al upset, in fact it would just mean that we had progressed far quicker in our rebuilding than anyone had expected, potentially opening that premiership window once again earlier and hopefully for longer than we could have hoped for at the end of 2009.

                  I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I fully agree with you. It was only 6 weeks ago that we didn't even look like making the final 8. So anything is a major bonus from here on.

Under the current top 8 system, which has been in place since 2000, in the week 2 semi-finals the 5th-8th placed week 1 winners, have beaten the 1st-4th placed week 1 losers, twice out of 20 attempts. Hawthorn by 3 points over then-serial-chokers Port Adelaide in 2001, and Collingwood by 19 points over an on-the-wane Kerrless, Cousinsless, Juddless West Coast in 2007. While neither of those 2 went on to make the GF, they both surprised by giving it a real shake-- Hawthorn lost their PF against minor premiers Essendon by just 9 points, and in 2007 Collingwood famously went within 5 points of a Geelong team whose actual grand final opponent didn't manage to keep the margin under 105 points.

10% is a pitiful success rate, and reinforces the idea that (under the subsisting system) the 5th-8th teams are basically in the finals for the fun, experience and AFL money, not because they are a realistic chance of winning the flag. Of course I'd be delighted to see the Swans prove me wrong this year.

But in short: not only is a prelim final as good as we can sensibly hope for, history suggests that the odds against even achieving that, are enormous.

Who want's to be sensible in September? : ) I'm daring to dream - stat's can screw themselves. I won't worry about about them and I doubt the players will too.

Well I'd love to buy tkts if I can work the heck out what the different packages mean.

Does anyone understand how the family packages work?

Generally yes, but I think it could be on the cards this year. The Bulldogs' position in the top 4 is looking very shaky atm. Whoever wins out of us and Carlton will definitely fancy their chances against them. (Of course, the winner is highly unlikely to get through Geelong in the prelim!)
