    Next Captain?

Kirk retires and assuming the 3 skipper policy remains, who is going to take his place?

    Bolts, Goodes & XXXXXX

Hanners? Let him play without burden for a while longer
Jack? Would be prime and very good at it in anyone elses team
Jude? Already a leader and would look a bit tokenistic at this late stage
ROK? Slightly down on form this year and some injury there and just keen tags keeping him busy

I think Kieran should get it but if Swans are true to form on elder statesmen, then probably ROK to keep the balance of 1 back, 1 mid, 1 forward as well.

I would have no probs with ROK being our 2011 skipper. He's a gun, a favourite son and speaks a lot of sense.

I'd just leave it at the two left, move Hanners into the leadership group and he'll be ready to step into the captaincy spot in a few years when Goodesy hangs up the boots.

Hanners just looks every ounce a leader.

Hanners? Just doesn't sit well, yet.

Anyway I don't believe anyone can make a call on this outside of the group. We just simply have no clue who is a voice, and mentor.

Well that's the end of this thread, I guess.

haha I mean we can guess, but it's not something we can easily measure and pass judgement on. How they play etc, we can, but this feels like guestimates.

I would b e surprised if it wasn't either Peb or Macca. Macca is my first pick as he does so much organising on the ground and the players listen to him. He is definitely in charge on ground.

Hanners and Jack in a couple of years. Nineteen is waayy too young to be captain of blokes over ten years older than him. Wouldn't be fair on him either.

Macca, but Horse may be comfortable with co-captains instead of 3.

I don't necessarily agree we have no clue on who is a voice or mentor. It's pretty clear to me and others that Hanners has a LOT more to say on the field then the average 19yo 'junior' player. His constant revving up and encouragement of teammates along with just his general body language suggest he has leadership material written all over him.

I have far more of an issue when the likes of Bevo and Mathews before him get constantly smashed on RWO for consistently getting games, when it's obvious that the coaching staff have asked them to do a job and they obviously have carried out that job, hence keep their place.

That's the type of thing that us guys looking in from the outside have no clue about.

Yep. Captain in his final year would be a fitting tribute.

Macca for me. He directs a lot of players around the ground already, and has time on his side. Too late for the mighty warrior Bolton, and imo too early for either Jack or Hanners.
