Three Swans in AA 40 man squad...

    AFL releases 40-man All-Australian squad - AFL.com.au

    Adam Goodes
    Nick Malceski
    Shane Mumford

Reg Grundy unlucky to miss out.
Given they've selected 4 ruckmen in the squad, you would have to assume they will pick 2 rucks in the final 22. So Mummy has a good chance against Jamar (Jolly not in the picture for mine)

I am a little teensy bit surprised by Mal being in, and I love the bloke, get a hug from him every year, but hell I'll take it. Good on the lot of them, but I would think Mums the only almost certain.

Selectors were told to pick 40 best players regardless of position...but then team will be named in position. No small defender named in 40 so I think Smith has been robbed. If you were picking the Australian team he would be in. Frawley, Lake, Taylor and Fletcher the key defenders...might have had Reg in there (No Scarlett!). Jack a little unlucky methinks. Would get selected ahead of a few...Swallow and Kelly for a start.

Swallow and Kelly have had brilliant years. Jack has had a very solid year, showing consistent improvement, and a huge last month. Hopefully he will get himself in the AA team in future seasons but he hasn't put in an AA worthy season this year.

McGlynn would have been in had he played a few more games, I'd expect.

Groan. These jokes are old and tyred.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

The Eski had a great first 2/3's - 3/4's of the season. Just trailed off in the last 4-5 rounds.

Malceski's deserves his spot. If anything I am surprised about Goodes' inclusion. It hasn't exactly been his best year.

I feel sorry for Reg. He has been one of the competitions premier defenders this year IMO

Yeah, me too. His numbers still read pretty well though. Doubt he'll make the 22.

Best effort from the selectors for a while but I'm not a fan of the award.
