    Aker embarrasses himself some more...

Bitter Akermanis wills Dogs to fail in finals

Asked about the injuries that have ravaged the club, including an injury to captain Brad Johnson, Akermanis replied: ''Yeah, suck s---.''

Aker should just keep his opinions too himself and realise maybe the stuff he is saying now is similar to why he got sacked from both the Lions and the Dogs.

      Nah. Let him go.
I love watching him open his mouth just wide enough to let more foot in.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

They gave him the flick, he can say what he likes about those who ousted him as far as I'm concerned.

Hmm that's fair enough, I can agree with that.

A better response would have been "I bet they could use someone like me right about now...."

Jeez, how could not one but two teams not want a class act like that on board? Bet he kicks over the Scrabble board & tells the 9-year-old he played against that she was a cheater when he loses too.

There are things to like about Aker - overcoming (to a significant extent) a difficult background, devoted family man, sublime skills at his peak - but at the moment he is carrying on like a spiteful, petulant prat. I wonder if he has learnt anything from his experience.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I honestly don't think so, otherwise he wouldn't have been sacked a second time if he was going to learn.

It doesn't offend, or surprise me in the slightest.

He speaks his mind and good luck to him. His parting with the Bulldogs was well documented as anything but harmonious and it also became very personal, particularly with Johnson.

When asked a question about whether he feels sorry for Johnsons injury and the Bulldogs woes in general, what else was he going to say?

Spiteful , but it is probably hitting close to home and that is what is hurting the Doggies and fans, amongst other things.
A fit and firing Aker would really help the Dogs finals.
I am just glad the Swans never took an interest in him.

Exactly. If he said he felt sorry for him or the 'Dogs, no-one would have believed him anyway. I'm sure sacking him has created more drama for them than they expected.

I don't mind him in the media. Don't agree with everything he says but at least he's not up everyone's arse like the bulk of ex-footballers in the media down here. Would much prefer to listen to Aker than someone like Luke Darcy.

@@@@ing good on him for saying that. The Bulldogs did a hatchet job on him.

Aker's honesty is great, but the thing is, whenever you exit from an organisation, however ingloriously, bad-mouthing your former employer rarely helps your chances of finding employment elsewhere. But then Aker is Aker and he's always been that way. He spoke his mind, and he probably only said what we all wished we could say after leaving a @@@@ty job, which we've all had at one time or another.

(Btw, I do think he got shafted)
