AFL 360 - Singing Jacks praises

there is a reason why I loved Mark McClure when I were a girl - he is a man who makes great sense!

last night on AFL 360 - he couldnt praise young Keiran enough - reckons he was stiffed not to be in the All-Australian Squad and at any opportunity he would mention our boy saying he is the star of the future . No argument from me!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

He certainly is.My wife 4 weeks ago said it all "Ablett like" .He is our Gary Ablett and boy have we played better since he has hit his straps. He just pulls everybody into the play and inspires them to lift. The team is very exciting now and he is a big part of the reason.

Not that it'll help us move up the ladder (according to the clowns on 360).

A lot of kids play well until the opposition notices them, then they get a real tagger and fall back to average play. The difference with Keiran is that half-way through the year the other teams noticed he is good, put their best tagger on him, and...he began to play even better!!

I'm just waiting for the same thing to happen with our other young guns. Keiran's led the way!

The big winner in Kizza and Hanners' recent recognition will be Macca. There is little doubt now that the opposition will be keeping a much closer eye on Kizza and to a lesser extent Hanners now, knowing full well in their current form they cannot be left to do as they like. This should lessen the attention Macca gets and as we've seen previously (Bulldogs game in Canberra in 2008 the best example) he is capable of finding space and cutting teams apart if left unattended.

It's really quite exciting now. For as long as I can remember, even during our 'glory' years in 2005/06, it is always us tagging and shutting down them because we've had nobody really offensively dangerous. It will be good to watch our team when the boots on the other foot and they have to worry about our midfield....

Your wife has a very good eye Hartijon, ever since Jack has had this performance spur in the last 6 weeks, I cant believe how much he looks like Ablett out there. In fact I've posted a couple of times on bigfooty that the reason he has improved the way he has and plays and looks a lot like Ablett out there is because he's been tagging Ablett for such a long time now, he's definately learned quite a few tricks off of the little champion(Ablett).

I noticed that and was honestly confused by it, although I think they're either hard markers or simpletons because from memory they had about 12 clubs that would seemingly be struggling to make the 8.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Totally agree with you both. There was two goals he kicked agst Brissie where it was like a doppelganger of Ablett.
Gosh he's dynamic and strong when he puts on a burst of speed. His highlight reel is going to look pretty special at the B&F. You'd have to see him as a gimme for most improved if not with the Skilts in his hot little hands.
We should just call him Jacklett

The slow mo of him kicking that goal replayed on AFL teams tonite would spook other clubs.

No shame in being compared to Ablett, no shame in looking at what his father did (at the time I followed league more than Aussie rules and although not a balmain fan it was hard not to appreciate Gary his father).

But, there is not much point comparing him to Gary's because he's a Keiran and aint it bloody great sitting back and watchin him make some history of his own in Red and White.

It's amazing that we're even comparing him to Ablett, his improvement has been incredible and actually now justifying being mentioned in the same breath as Ablett, not just because they are both sons of legend Gar(r)ys... remember the Cats game at ANZ last year which we lost narrowly, Ablett gave him a touch-up that night but even since then Kieren's game has come even further.
