    The spirit of Brett Kirk

I'm as sceptical and cynical a bloke as you'll ever meet. Yet, of all the countries I've visited, the Buddhist countries are the friendliest. And here we have a footballer rated for his heart above all else...

How a friend's passing changed Brett Kirk

    The man is a champion.

That's a fine story, and more revealing of Kirk the man than anything else I've read about him. It also explains a lot about his attitude to football, and the way he is able to channel his drive.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I wonder if Jay is related to Dylan McNeil.

Uncle, I believe. I know James as well, who's a top bloke.

I thought that's where the story was going, but when no mention was made of it, I assumed he was no relation. Strange it wasn't mentioned.

Not really. Just Kirk like. Why put pressure on the kid. (Not like Keiran's father you have to admit...I prefer Kirky's style).
