Yep, definitely needs some work done on him. Should he play next week?

If ROK hadn't have kicked that goal in the last qtr...deadset...he was a passenger today and I hate to admit it. Couldn't kick, hands weren't clean, couldn't mark. All hallmarks of his game that are non-existent at the moment. I hope he gets his stuff together - we need him.

His groin is terrible clearly. Should he play next week - if fit yes - he's smart.

With Bradshaw missing, and Jesse White being almost useless, we cant afford any other forward passengers. I think it would be a straight swap for McGlynn if he was ready. Maybe ROK comes back for Prelim or Granny after a week or two's rest.

Even if McGlynn isn't ready, and with all due respect to the clutch last-quarter goal, any one of Reid, Vespa, Meredith, MOD would offer us more than ROK at the moment (presuming all are cherry-ripe, fully-fit). I'm not so naive as to think all senior players go into the finals at absolutely 100% (see Leo Barry, 2005), but his groin (or whatever it is) has got the better of him and he really needs a week to rest it.

PS I thought Jesse White was fine. Didn't take the hangers today, but created a contest and kept the ball in the area at crucial times, and moved the ball on to advantage a few times too.

Unless his groin improves significantly during the week he shouldn't play. Was a liability today.

Jesse and Rok took crucial marks that demand recognition. Easy to bag, but they got us over the line....back in the team as Roosy will!

You cant take injured players into finals games. If he's injured, he shouldnt play.

Jesse did everything but take big contested marks. IMO he was very good. ROK is a worry, would love to have him fit but that is obviously not the case.

ROK looked half dead. I hope they don't keep playing him for the sake of it. At the moment I'd happily take Reid or Rohan ahead of him. He should have a week off.

PS. I thought White was okay too, though one wonders what happened to the White we saw in the last few rounds of last year.

I bow to no one in my ROKlove, but yeah - for most of the game (aside from that fanTAStic goal) I kept wondering "hey, is he on the field?" He's too important to us when he's fit - next game, with the Bulldogs so demoralised, injured, and depleted might be a handy chance to rest him. It's the level after that (when/if we get there) that we need everyone at all their best.
